Jacob Chiu is a Managing Director responsible for Asian PE manager research and co-investments for HQ Capital, a leading global independent alternative investment manager with $8 billion AUM in private equity. Previously, he was a Partner with FLAG Squadron Asia; a Managing Director with Search Investment Group; and held senior operating and financial roles with Glaxo, Kraft and TigerPack. He holds an MSc in Financial Management from the University of London.
Max Hui is a managing director and an investment committee member of the private equity division of CDH Investments. He joined CDH’s Beijing office in 2003 and had been the chief executive officer of the Singapore office from 2013 till 2022.
Max focuses on cross-border investments with China nexus. Some of the notable acquisitions include Smithfield (by Shuanghui), SharkNinja (together with Joyoung’s shareholder), Go Healthy (#1 nutrition supplement company in New Zealand), Aver Asia (leading general equipment leasing company in SE Asia) and Mobile World (largest mobile phone and consumer electronics retailer in Vietnam). Previously, Max worked for Morgan Stanley Private Equity Asia in Hong Kong and Schroders & Co’s investment banking unit in New York. Max holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley and a Master of Engineering in Financial Engineering from Princeton University.
Ms. Mengyang Yang is an Executive Director and Head of Hong Kong PE Business at CICC Capital, the PE arm of China International Capital Corporation （“CICC”）. Ms. Yang initially joined CICC in 2015 working on investments in mid-cap PE funds in the US and Europe and co-investments. Upon re-joining CICC in 2022, she is responsible for all aspects of the business of CICC Capital in Hong Kong and leads CICC Capital’s expansion into international markets.
Ms. Yang received her BA in finance and LLB from the University of International Business and Economics, and her LLM from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
Jenny Zeng is the Founder and Managing Partner of MSA Capital, where she oversees all China investments. Jenny has over 20 years of investment and operational experience.
Jenny was the first Executive Director of China Venture Capital and Private Equity Association and founded one of the first boutique investment banking firms in China. She was an early investor in many sector leading companies in China, such as Nio (NYSE: NIO), Yidu Cloud (SEHK: 2158), BOSS Zhipin (NASDAQ: BZ), Pyrotech and Sironas. Jenny was recognized as one of China’s Top 20 Healthcare Investors and Top 30 Most Influential Investors in China in 2022 by Forbes. Under her leadership, MSA was awarded “2021 Firm of the Year - China” and “2021 Exit of the Year - Asia” by Private Equity International.
She is a member of the Council of The Future Forum and a member of the Strategic Cooperation and Development Committee of Institute for AI International Governance at Tsinghua University. She is also a member of the Brookings China Council and the Greater China Council of The Nature Conservancy.
Tony Jiang is a co-founder and partner at Ocean Link. He leads all of Ocean Link's investments, and he currently serves on the board of eLong, Mafengwo, Yitiao, New Century Kaiyuan Hotels, Ruby Hotels & Resorts, and Mind Education. Prior to founding Ocean Link, Mr. Jiang was with The Carlyle Group from 2006 to 2016 focused on private equity investments in Asia. Earlier in his career, Mr. Jiang worked in the investment banking division of Deutsche Bank. He received a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Columbia University with full scholarship.
