Xun Zeng Partner COOLEY LLP

Xun Zeng is an investment funds partner of Cooley’s Beijing office.  Her practice focuses on the formation, structuring and operation of a wide variety of investment funds, including venture capital, private equity, hybrid and co-investment funds. She advises fund sponsors on the marketing, formation and operation of their funds, as well as upper-tier arrangements, carried interest plans, strategic joint venture arrangements and various governance matters.  Xun also has extensive experience in representing institutional investors in connection with investments in private funds.

Xun is a lecturer in Law on the faculty of the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School.  She teaches Private Investment Funds.

Xun is admitted to practice in New York and Hong Kong.  She is a native Mandarin and Cantonese speaker.

Shane Chesson Partner OPENSPACE VENTURES

Shane is Founder and Partner of Openspace Ventures, a Singapore-headquartered VC focused on investments in Southeast Asia-based technology companies. Openspace currently manages 4 funds with total committed capital of over US$350M. Selected Openspace investments overseen by Shane include Gojek, HaloDoc, Whispir, Biofourmis, Finnomena and Tanihub Group.

Openspace’s inaugural fund is consistently performing top 5% of VC funds globally according to Cambridge Associates benchmark. As of June 2020, a total of US$6.5 bn follow-on capital has been raised by Openspace portfolio companies. In 2018, Shane was a finalist for Asian VC/PE “Professional of the Year” as coordinated by the Asian Venture Capital Journal.

Shane was previously Managing Director and Co-Head (Technology Investment Banking, of Citigroup Asia-Pacific. As a technology banker, he spent over thirteen years advising Asian technology companies and financial sponsors on capital raising and M&A strategies. Over this time, his clients have included strategic players such as Qihoo, Mediatek, Pactera, Acquity, Hisoft, ASE, SAS and sponsors such as Temasek, Khazanah, ATIC, GGV, CVCI and DCM. Shane has acted as advisor on many technology M&A transactions including SaS acquisition of Covalent, sale of Singapore Computer Systems to NCS in 2009 and the private equity buyouts of SPI, Unisteel, MMI and Acument. Prior to his banking career, Shane was a strategy consultant with Bain and Company and GEM Consulting in Australia.

Shane has an MBA with distinction from INSEAD Singapore where he was a recipient of the IAA Asian Campus scholarship and a Bachelor of Laws/Bachelor of Commerce from UWA.

Adrian Li Founder & Managing Partner AC VENTURES

Adrian is Founder & Managing Partner at AC Ventures, formerly Convergence Ventures. ACV is an early stage Indonesia focused technology venture capital fund. ACV managed 3 funds with a portfolio of over 80 businesses. Notable investments include, Payfazz, Koinworks, Julo, Carsome and M17.

Previously, he co-founded several ventures in China and Indonesia. Adrian’s 1st Internet venture was Idapted where as CEO & cofounder he raised 2 rounds of venture financing and led the company to be the largest live 1:1 online English test preparation service in China. Idapted was acquired by Eleutian in 2011. He then joined Rocket Internet as a Managing Director where he worked on new technology ventures in China and South East Asia. At the end of 2014 he launched Convergence Ventures.

Adrian is also involved in non-profit work. He founded and chairs a UK Charity called CNYTrust, which supports children in rural China continue schooling. He is a business mentor at several organisations including Endeavour, Founders Institute and Antler. He has served on the board of Entrepreneurs Organisation is several roles including Beijing Chapter President and Regional Communications Director. He is also a member of Young Presidents Organisation (YPO) in Indonesia.

Moon-Suk (Moon) Oh Partner ALTOS VENTURES

Moon is a member of the Altos investment team. Prior to joining Altos, Moon was with Goldman Sachs Principal Investment Area in Hong Kong, where he focused on private equity investments in Korea. Prior to Goldman Sachs, he worked at Topia Education in Seoul. He began his career at Morgan Stanley in New York, working on firmwide strategy and principal M&A. Moon received a B.A. in Economics and International Relations from Brown University.

Jiali Mao Chief Operating Officer MSA CAPITAL

Jiali is the Chief Operating Officer of MSA Capital.

Jiali has over 15 years’ experience in the investment management sector. Prior to joining MSA Capital, she was a partner at Deloitte where she worked in offices in China and UK, providing professional services to global fund managers.

Jiali is a chartered accountant in Hong Kong and in England and Wales.
