CloseBrooke Zhou is Partner of LGT Capital Partners, she co-leads LGT CP’s private equity business in Asia. LGT Capital Partners is a leading institutional alternative asset and fund of funds manager, currently managing over USD 100 billion AuM on a global basis and over 600 private equity professionals worldwide. The firm is headquartered in Pfäffikon, Switzerland (near Zurich) and has offices in Hong Kong, Beijing, Tokyo, Sydney, New York, Raleigh, Dublin, London, Paris, Frankfurt, Vaduz and Dubai.
Prior to joining LGT Capital Partners in 2010, Ms. Zhou was with CDH Investments, a leading Chinese private equity manager, based in Beijing. Prior to CDH Investments, Ms. Zhou spent her career at Bain & Company in Shanghai, as well as Oracle Corporation in Redwood Shores, California.
Ms. Zhou earned an MBA from Harvard Business School and a Bachelor of Science from Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Ms. Zhou grew up in Shanghai and is fluent in Mandarin Chinese.
Daniel Zhang is the Managing Partner of FirstLight Capital. FirstLight Capital is a private equity manager specializing in Buy & Build strategy with c.US$2.3 billion in managed assets. The firm focuses on acquiring China-related opportunities and driving their transformative growth through business and financial engineering.
Before joining FirstLight Capital in March 2024, Daniel spent 16 years at Alibaba Group, where he was appointed Chief Executive Officer in May 2015 and Chairman of Alibaba Group in September 2019. He is a founding member of the Alibaba Partnership.
During his tenure at Alibaba, Daniel was a driving force behind key strategic initiatives including launch of Tmall, transformation of Alibaba towards a mobile-first ecosystem, creation of Double-Eleven Shopping Festival, establishment of Cainiao Network and Alibaba Business Operating System. His “New Retail” strategy transformed traditional commerce models globally. Daneil also led the integration of Alibaba’s data platforms and migration of core systems to Alibaba Cloud, where he later took on key executive roles.
Daniel is currently a member of the China Advisory Council of Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited, as well as an independent non-executive director on the boards of the Saudi Tourism Authority and Hysan Development Company Limited. He previously served as a member of the World Economic Forum International Business Council and as the Co-Chair of the Consumer Goods Forum in both its Global and China divisions. Daniel graduated from Shanghai University of Finance and Economics with a bachelor’s degree in finance.
