Will Cai is the co-chair of Cooley’s China corporate practice and a founding partner of the firm’s Asia capital markets practice. He specializes in US and Hong Kong capital markets transactions and cross-border mergers and acquisitions (M&As). Over the past two decades, Will has worked on 100+ successful initial public offerings (IPOs) and follow-on offerings in the US and Hong Kong markets, with a focus on technology and new economy companies. In addition, Will has represented a significant number of leading new economy companies in their cross-border M&A transactions with an aggregate value of several billion US dollars, including many landmark deals.
Nitin is Managing Partner and Co-Founder of Filter Capital, a growth investment firm which partners with India’s tech entrepreneurs from inflection point to industry leadership. The firm invests in SaaS, IT services, and technology-led businesses across consumer, B2B and financial services. Filter Capital’s current portfolio companies include Capillary (loyalty software), Chalo (mobility), Loadshare (e-commerce logistics), THB (healthcare software), M1xchange (supply chain financing platform) and R for Rabbit (online-first baby-care brand).
Prior to launching Filter Capital, Nitin spent 14 years at the India office of global private equity firm Warburg Pincus LLC, including six years as Managing Director where he led the firm’s investment advisory activities in the technology sector in India. In his role as Managing Director, Nitin evaluated close to 300 opportunities in technology-led businesses including Internet and e-commerce, software and IT services, payments, logistics, education and health.
Nitin graduated with an AB from Harvard University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
Alister is the founder and Managing Partner of Folklore Ventures, an Australian venture capital firm with three top-decile funds under management that invests in ANZ founders building global technology companies. Alister has over 20 years of experience as an investor, advisor and founder of technology companies, with software at their core.
Emre joined Globis Capital Partners in 2014. He leads investments in IT startups targeting digital transformation of various industries. His portfolio includes Photosynth (TSE: 4379), MFS (TSE: 196A), GLM (acquired by a Hong Kong company), Sensyn Robotics (robotics software and services), New Standard (brand DX agency), Matsuri Technologies (short-term rental support systems and operations), Global Mobility Service (auto loans, IoT), Shippio (digital international freight forwarding, SaaS), CADDi (AI data platform for the manufacturing sector), Estie (commercial real estate database, SaaS), Leaner Technologies (procurement SaaS), Ascend (transportation management SaaS), Facilo (SaaS for real estate agencies), Medical Force (SaaS for self-pay clinics), and Kotoba Technologies (voice AI foundation models and applications).
Prior to joining Globis Capital Partners, Emre worked for Deloitte Tohmatsu Consulting (Tokyo) and KPMG Management Consulting (Tokyo).
He teaches at Globis University Graduate School of Management (MBA).
Emre graduated from Harvard Business School (MBA) and Ohio State University (Honors).
Angela Toy is Partner and Chief Operating Officer at Golden Gate Ventures, an early stage VC firm investing in internet and mobile related technology companies across Southeast Asia. Angela serves on a number of portfolio boards and is involved broadly across the entire portfolio ensuring that the portfolio gets needed to propel companies in their growth. Internally, Angela oversees the Portfolio Management, Fund Administration and Operations functions of the fund.
Angela graduated with Honours in Accountancy from Nanyang Technological University and started her career in Ernst & Young specializing in the audit of Financial Institutions such as banks and asset managers. A few notable institutions in her audit portfolio included Societe Genarale, Mizuho Corporate Bank and UOB.
Prior to joining Golden Gate Ventures, Angela launched an ecommerce subscription business in the pet industry. Outside of work Angela has a wide range of interests and hobbies. Her dedication to holistic wellness is evidenced by her RYT200 Hot Yoga Teacher Training completion in July 2017 as well as an Executive Coaching Program in 2022. Additionally, Angela is an avid animal lover who enjoys engaging in outdoor activities such as snowboarding, diving, and volleyball, all while maintaining a passion for travel and promoting sustainable living.
