Previously, he was Managing Partner at MSA Capital, where he oversaw the firm’s institutional fundraising and operations. Before MSA, Chris was a Global Partner and Head of Asia at Eaton Partners, where he revitalized a dormant business, building one of Asia’s leading private markets practices in fund placement and secondary advisory. Under his decade-long leadership, Eaton won multiple industry awards, including Private Equity International’s Fund Placement Firm of the Year in Asia for four consecutive years and Secondary Advisor of the Year twice.

 Mr. Lerner began his career with Citigroup and its predecessor firms, Salomon Brothers and Smith Barney, as the firm’s first investment banking expatriate in Mainland China. He later relocated to Hong Kong, where he helped establish and expand the Asia Pacific Financial Institutions Group.

 He holds an MBA from Columbia Business School and a BA from Tufts University, and is an active, long-standing member of Young President’s Organization and a Kauffman Fellow.

Joe is a Principal in the Secondary and Portfolio Finance team at Carlyle AlpInvest, where he is responsible for sourcing, evaluating and executing transactions in Asia. He joined Carlyle AlpInvest in 2013 from Morgan Stanley where he worked within the investment banking division. Joe received a BS in Business Administration from the University of California in Berkeley.

Brian Lam joined J.P. Morgan’s Private Equity Group in Hong Kong in 2021, where he focuses on private equity and venture capital managers, co-investments and secondary investments across the Asia-Pacific region. Prior to joining J.P. Morgan, he was a Principal at CPP Investments’ Private Equity team, where he focused on direct investments across the Asia-Pacific and North American regions. Prior to this, he was in the Investment Banking Division at TD Securities, covering the Technology, Media and Telecom sectors.  Brian holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Wilfrid Laurier University.

John JongSeong Kim is a Director on the Secondary team primarily focused on the evaluation and monitoring of non-U.S. secondary opportunities including partnership and GP-led transactions. Prior to joining Lexington in 2023, John was a principal at Cota Capital, a venture capital firm in San Francisco, where he led the firm’s investments in healthcare. 

Prior to Cota Capital, John held senior investment positions at Glenview Capital in New York and Copernicus Capital in San Francisco, where he invested across various healthcare subsectors. During his tenure at Glenview Capital, John took a hiatus and served in the Republic of Korea Army. He began his career at Morgan Stanley where he was an investment banking analyst in Hong Kong and New York, focusing on cross-border mergers and acquisitions.   

John graduated cum laude from Columbia University with a B.S. in operations research and earned an M.S. in Management (Sloan Fellow) from Stanford Graduate School of Business. 

Peter Lui is a Principal at LGT Capital Partners in Hong Kong. At LGT CP, Mr. Lui focuses on origination, due diligence, execution, and monitoring of Asian private equity investments, and has been involved in deploying over USD 3 billion of capital in Asia for the firm since 2014. He is currently an Investment Committee member for LGT CP's Asian fund investments and direct co-investments. Mr. Lui also serves on the advisory boards of a number of private equity funds in Asia. Prior to joining LGT CP, Mr. Lui was an analyst in Morgan Stanley’s investment banking division in Hong Kong, where he focused on M&A transactions in the Asia-Pacific region. Mr. Lui holds a BSc in Economics from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. He is fluent in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin.

Alex Shum is a Partner with TPG NewQuest, based in Hong Kong. Alex joined TPG NewQuest in 2011 and is responsible for the sourcing, execution and portfolio management of investments for the firm. Alex also leads TPG NewQuest’s China investment teams and has a focus on structuring complex fund solutions transactions. Alex also has a track record of navigating direct investment situations with heavy hands-on involvement, driving the companies throughout its investment lifecycle to successful exits. Alex has more than 15 years of experience in finance, encompassing investments, capital raising, M&A and corporate advisory. Prior to joining TPG NewQuest, he was an Associate at Credit Suisse’s Investment Bank, where he worked in the corporate finance and equity capital markets departments. Alex received his undergraduate degree in Economics from Duke University in Durham, NC. Alex is fluent in English, Mandarin and Cantonese.
