In 2007, Wei joined KPCB as a member of the founding team and served as the managing partner of KPCB, leading the technology investment team in Greater China. In 2017, Wei founded CCV, adhering to a selected investment strategy, focusing on early investment in artificial intelligence, robotics, autonomous driving and other fields, and maintaining the rate of investing in at least one unicorn per year.
The companies he invested include: JD.com (NASDAQ:JD), JD.com, Ximalaya FM, VenusTech (SZSE:002439), CreditEase (NYSE:YRD), Rong360 (NYSE:JT), Arrail Dental (06639.HK) ), Shukun Technology, Perfect Corp, MetaApp, Cowa Robot, Transsnet Financial, IceKredit, Quicktron, PPIO, U POWER Technology, etc.
Wei has been honored as the Most Influential Venture Capitalist by Fortune, Best Venture Capitalists by Forbes, FT China Leader Venture Capitalist and Best Venture Capitalist by China Venture and Zero2IPO.
Wei also serves as the treasurer of China Venture Capital and Private Equity Association (“CVCA”), the oldest and longest-running trade group representing the venture capital and private equity investment industry in Greater China.
Wei holds an M.B.A. from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China.
