CloseLuis is a Senior Principal at Samaipata based in Madrid and focusing on the Southern European market. He holds a BSc in Mechanical Engineering and Business from MIT, and a MBA from The Wharton School.
Luis started his professional career at Citi in London as part of the Global Industries Group M&A team. He was introduced to early stage investing while working with José Marin (Founding Partner of FJ Labs), and has been investing as a Business Angel ever since. Luis has developed a portfolio of 38 angel investments over the last decade, spanning multiple industries. He also worked as CFO for two of his portfolio companies helping them successfully raise Seed and Series A rounds.
During his free time, Luis likes to enjoy an early morning round of golf, going to art exhibits, the movie theatre, or discovering one of the many new additions to Madrid’s gastronomic scene.
David Martín is Head of Private Equity Iberia at Tikehau Capital.
Prior to joining Tikehau Capital, David Martín spent 14 years at ProA Capital, where he was a founding partner and investment director. Throughout his career, David has worked on numerous private equity transactions in both Spain and Portugal, with a particular focus on mid-market companies, supporting management teams and family groups in their growth projects.
David began his professional career at PwC and Nmas1 Private Equity. He holds a degree in Business Administration and Management from Universidad Carlos III and a PDG from IESE.
