Debtwire European Direct Lending Awards
Debtwire, the leading provider of leveraged capital markets data and intelligence, will be announcing the winners of the 2022 European Direct Lending Awards at a gala dinner at The Savoy in London on the 18th May.
The awards ceremony will take place after the Direct Lending conference and registration for the gala dinner is separate to registration for the conference.
Last year we launched our first Direct Lending Awards, and following on from that success this year will return bigger and better, with more than a dozen prizes awarded on the night.
Debtwire’s Direct Lending Awards recognise the best performing European direct lending funds and regional direct lending managers. This year will also include People’s Choice Awards for the best performing large-cap, mid-cap and small-cap European funds managers of the year.
How it works:
Our rigorous judging process is unique. It starts with analysis of our market-leading league tables followed by a shortlist announcement and scrutiny by a panel of expert judges. Which means a Direct Lending Award from Debtwire is true recognition of an outstanding year which we recognise from 1st January 2022 – 31st December 2022.
Process:
First, we analyse our market-leading league tables and announce a shortlist. These shortlisted candidates are then invited to provide their submissions for the awards. The deadline for the people's choice awards submissions is Monday 27th March and the deadline for all other awards submissions is Monday 17th April.
Next, our expert panel of judges review these submissions and choose the winners. As there is only one winner per category, a Direct Lending Award from Debtwire is true recognition of the best in the Direct Lending field.
Finally, the winners will be announced on 18 May 2023 at the Debtwire European Direct Lending Awards at the Savoy Hotel in London. Stay tuned for details on our winners.

Diala Minott is a private funds lawyer in the credit funds practice in the London office of Paul Hastings.
She advises on a wide range of fund-related work including private equity, private debt, real estate, mezzanine, venture, credit, infrastructure, funds of funds, distressed and special situations, and activist funds, as well as on the structuring of carried interest, co-investment and other incentive schemes, secondary transactions, and fund restructurings . She also specializes in direct lending funds, having set up the first regulated direct lending fund in Luxembourg in 2009 for ICG. She acts for investors for solvency II planning and also lobbies the regulators for improvements in the banking monopoly regimes around Europe on behalf of her clients. She also acts for governments, improving their funds legislations. Mrs. Minott also specializes in credit funds structured finance transactions, including acting on numerous CLOs and CDOs—both pre- and post-crisis—as well as acting on bespoke hybrid mid-market CLO-type funds.
Her clients include the following: Pemberton, Cheyne, Apollo, Blackrock, Monroe, Idinvest, ICG, Aviva Investors, Pantheon, Insight Management, PGIM, Ostrum, and BNP, amongst others.
Patrick is a managing director in the Merchant Banking Division (MBD), responsible for investment activities of the Specialty Lending Group (SLG) in Europe within MBD. He serves on the SLG Investment Committee. Patrick joined the firm in 2019 as a managing director.
Prior to joining the firm, he was a managing director and one of the founding members of the European Direct Lending and Private Debt strategies at Alcentra.
Earlier in his career, Patrick worked at Beechbrook Capital and Citi Private Equity. He began his career as an investment banking analyst with Credit Suisse First Boston in 2004.
Patrick earned a BSc in Business Studies from Cass Business School in 2004.
Johan is a founder and Managing Partner of ARCOS Capital, a private debt fund focusing on senior secured lending to the mid-cap corporate market in Northern Europe (DACH, Benelux, UK and the Nordic Region). Johan has over 25 years of experience in leveraged finance and corporate finance. Prior to joining ARCOS, Johan worked first with UBS for 12 years in London in corporate finance where he led teams advising corporates and private equity firms on M&A, equity and debt related transactions. He then joined RBS for 13 years as Managing Director and was responsible for originating, structuring and managing new issue loans in the European Leveraged Finance market. Johan also served as Board member of RBS’ Leveraged Finance Division and as Chairman of the bank’s Leveraged Finance Credit Committee.
Ivan Radenovic is a Managing Director and Head of Direct Lending in Europe at Deutsche Bank. Mr. Radenovic is responsible for leading direct lending and special situation transactions within European private credit space.
Before joining Deutsche Bank in 2014, Mr. Radenovic spent 5 years with Credit Suisse Mergers & Acquisitions group in London.
