Transportation and logistics – a new era
After two years of post-COVID accelerated growth in the transportation sector, deal activity declined sharply in 2023 and picked up in 2024. This year should be a promising one for the sector as the industry continues to evolve and compelling investment opportunities emerge in light of the “3Ds”: decarbonization, deglobalization and digitalization, particularly in the logistics and supply chain and energy transition space. Our panel of transportation and logistics experts will discuss:

Ford joined Infralogic in early 2022 to cover infrastructure in the US and Canada. After covering projects ranging from the Pennsylvania Major Bridges to Canada’s Alto high-speed rail, he now specializes in project finance coverage. Before Infralogic, Ford worked for the Chicago Tribune for 23 years in a variety of roles, including covering politics and running its breaking news desk.
Pip Decker is the Co-Founder and CEO of Current, delivering turnkey EV solutions including vehicle procurement, charging infrastructure, and operations for electric fleets. Previously, he co-founded BMR Energy, which expanded renewable energy projects across Latin America and the Caribbean following its acquisition by Sir Richard Branson, founder of the Virgin Group. With deep expertise from roles at Brookfield Renewable Partners and Noble Environmental Power, Pip also founded SunEast, a leading solar developer on the East Coast. Pip holds a bachelor’s degree in Public Policy from the College of William and Mary and a Class A CDL.
Mr. McCann the Co-Chief Executive Officer and Co-Portfolio Manager of Duration Capital Partners. Prior to founding Duration in 2024, he worked at Oaktree Capital where he co-established and co-led the Firm’s Transportation Infrastructure investing strategy. During his career, Emmett has helped lead several major public-private partnerships, including the 40-year lease of the Luis Munoz Marin Airport in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and the 50-year lease and concession agreement at the Seagirt Marine Terminal in Baltimore, Maryland. Prior to joining Highstar Capital (which was acquired by Oaktree) in 2009, Mr. McCann helped build Morgan Stanley's infrastructure effort in Europe and North America. Prior to joining Morgan Stanley, he was part of the team that established the infrastructure investment banking practice at Goldman Sachs. He currently serves on the board of directors of Ports America. Emmett holds a B.A. degree in finance from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and an M.B.A. with honors from the University of Chicago. He is also a member of the board of Youth, Inc., a leading non-profit focused on building organizations that help children in New York City thrive.
Wes brings nearly 25 years of experience financing and investing in businesses that use transportation, industrial and commercial equipment to provide critical services into the economy. Before Mascarene Partners, Wes founded and was the Head of Onex Transportation Partners, a middle market, value added infrastructure investment platform focused on the transportation sector. Prior to Onex, Wes spent nearly 15 years as a Senior Vice President at BBAM LP, the world’s third largest aircraft leasing business. Wes led BBAM’s capital raising efforts and was an integral part of the senior leadership team that grew the business through the NYSE-listing of Fly Leasing Limited and the establishment of Incline Aviation, one of the world’s first private equity funds dedicated to investing in commercial aircraft on operating lease. Wes started his career at Credit Suisse in 2000 where he was involved in financing efforts across a wide range of transportation businesses with a particular focus on aircraft, railcars, vessels and containers.
Wes earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from Acadia University in Canada.
Allison Kingsley is Founder & Partner of NOVA Infrastructure, a value-added, middle market asset manager investing in environmental services, transportation, energy / energy transition, and digital infrastructure sectors in North America. With nearly 25 years of experience in infrastructure, Allison leads NOVA’s sourcing and execution of infrastructure investments and sits on NOVA’s Investment, Executive, and Valuation Committees. She also serves on the Board of Directors for multiple NOVA portfolio companies, which include Bold Ocean (realized), Harbor Logistics, A&R Bulk-Pak, and DartPoints. Prior to founding NOVA, Allison invested in infrastructure across different roles and firms, including PartnerRe / Reformation asset management, Ambac, and Lehman Brothers M&A. Allison is also a political economist and former tenured business school professor, with B.A. cum laude from Rice University, M.S.L. from Yale Law School, and Ph.D. from Columbia University.
As Group Head, Business Development and Partnering, Sia Kusha is responsible for Plenary Americas’ strategic business development, partnering and project development activities across North America.
Based in Tampa, Sia coordinates Plenary’s efforts to identify and assess new markets, project opportunities (buildings and civil), liaise with relevant authorities and solidify teaming.
Sia joined Plenary after more than 35 years in the engineering and construction industries, including the last five years at AECOM where he was most recently the Managing Director of Integrated Delivery Services, responsible for their opportunity pipeline and partnering across their five business lines (Transportation, Water, Power, Environment, Buildings & Places) in the Americas.
Sia is fellow of the American Council of Engineering Companies and a registered professional engineer in FL, GA, NC, AZ, MN and WI.
