Maria Marcela Silva Regional Director, Infrastructure World Bank Group

María Marcela Silva is Regional Director for Infrastructure in the Latin America and the Caribbean Region (LCR), based in Washington, D.C.

A Colombian national, she joined the World Bank in 2002 as Transport Specialist in the Transport and Urban Department. She has since then held various positions both in operations and at the corporate level.  Her most recent assignments have been as Transport Practice Manager in the Latin America and the Caribbean Region and in the Africa Region.

Before joining the Bank, Silva worked for the Colombian Government at the National Planning Department. She holds a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in Civil Engineering from Universidad de los Andes in Colombia, and a master’s degree in Economics and Finance from Bristol University.

Andre Clark Juliano Senior Vice President Siemens Energy Latin America

André Clark is Senior Vice President for Siemens Energy Latin America and Vice President of Siemens Energy Brazil, having previously been President and CEO of Siemens Brazil and also CEO of ACCIONA for Brazil, Bolivia, Uruguay and Paraguay. André was born in São Paulo and began his career in the Pulp & Paper industry in 1995. With 17 years of experience in Energy, Oil & Gas, Manufacturing, Logistics and Infrastructure segments, André holds a degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of São Paulo (USP) and an MBA in Finance and Operations Management from Stern School of Business, New York University. With an active role in leading associations and entities from different business segments, he is present in the most important discussions about Brazil. André is President of the Administrative Council of the Brazilian Association of Infrastructure and Basic Industries (ABDIB); Vice-president of the Plenary Board of the Brazilian Association of Machinery and Equipment (ABIMAQ); Member of the Business Council of the Economic Group formed by Brazil, Russia, India and China (BRICS); Member of the Leaders Committee of the National Confederation of Industries and of the Leaders Committee of Business Mobilization for Innovation (CNI /MEI); Member of the Board of Trustees and Senior Fellow of the Infrastructure Nucleus (CEBRI); Member of the Advisory Board of GRI Club Brasil; Member of the Superior Council of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC); Member of the Board of Directors and Vice President of the Digital Transformation Council of the Brazilian Institute of Oil, Gas and Biofuels (IBP).

Daniel Barreto Superintendente BNDES - The Brazilian Development Bank

Daniel Barreto is the Head of the Energy Division at BNDES – The Brazilian Development Bank, being responsible for the financing of energy sectors, including renewables, electric power transmission & distribution, and oil & gas.

BNDES is on “Top 3 Investors” in renewable energy worldwide, and supported 70% of Brazilian national capacity expansion in the last 20, including wind and solar farms, hydroelectric plants, and biomass.

Daniel has been in the BNDES for 14 years and was previously in executive positions in some divisions: Industry, Logistics and Strategic Planning.

Before joining BNDES, he has worked in energy companies such as Petrobras and ExxonMobil, and he holds a degree in Production Engineering from the Federal Fluminense University (UFF), and a master's degree in Economics and Finance from Ibmec-RJ.

Carlos Guinand Executive Chairman Sonnedix

Carlos Guinand is one of the founders of Sonnedix and has served as the company’s Chairman of the Board since 2012, managing all aspects of the company’s governance and performance. He is instrumental in setting the strategic direction and growth of the company, especially when it comes to providing his knowledge on international governance and operational issues.
