One of the UK’s leading authorities on international trade policy, David Henig is Director of the UK Trade Policy Project at the think-tank European Centre for International Political Economy (ECIPE). Examining the economic and trade implications of Brexit and other UK trade approaches, David places these in the context of the changing trends in globalisation which he also studies. He writes about all these topics in a regular column for the specialist trade news service Borderlex, discusses this with senior policy-makers in the UK and EU, serves as Expert Adviser to the UK Trade and Business Commission, and speaks regularly in the media and at various events. Until March 2018 he worked on these issues for the UK Government. A graduate of Oxford University, David started his career in consultancy.
