According to a joint report conducted by Mergermarket and Debtwire, buyout activity amounted to 752 deals worth USD 276.9 billion in the first 9 months of 2022, down 25.6% compared to 2021. Against this challenging backdrop, PE managers will have to navigate the tension between increased volatility versus record levels of dry power (US$1.2 trillion in the US alone) and the requirement to deploy capital. However, PE firms remain well equipped to seize quality assets and financing opportunities and employ creative approaches towards deployment. A panel of the biggest buyout managers in the market will discuss dealmaking during a time of market volatility, and how they are continuing to capture opportunities for long-term strategic growth.

Executive Managing Director
Jordan Peer Griffin is an Executive Managing Director of H.I.G. Capital and is a member of H.I.G.’s Executive Committee. Additionally, she serves on the investment committee for H.I.G. Strategic Partners Funds and co-chairs the firm’s Operational Risk and ESG & Diversity and Inclusion Committees. Based in New York, she has over 23 years of experience in alternative assets and leads H.I.G.'s strategy and growth initiatives across the firm's private equity, growth equity, credit, infrastructure, real estate, and co-investment strategies.
Prior to joining H.I.G., Jordan was at Blackstone’s credit business, GSO Capital Partners. Before joining GSO, Jordan worked in the leveraged finance and investment banking groups at Lehman Brothers and Barclays Capital. She began her career in asset management at Goldman, Sachs & Co.
Jordan received her B.A. in Public Policy from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC) and her MBA from UNC’s Kenan-Flagler Business School where she was a Kenan-Flagler Fellow.
Before joining Ardian as Head of Co-Investment for North America, Patrick spent 24 years with General Electric Company in increasing roles of responsibility both in the US and globally. In his last role, he led GE Equity, the $2.5 billion co-investment private equity arm of GE Capital, before selling the business to Ardian in 2015. He also founded Juna Equity Partners, a lower middle market co-investment and direct equity manager, in 2016. Patrick has over 26 years of experience in private equity.

Matteo Zenari is Head of Financial Sponsor Group within the Intesa Sanpaolo IMI Corporate & Investment Banking Division. In his leading role he is in charge globally of the coverage activity of the Investment Banking products and services, such as Structure Finance, Mergers & Acquisitions, Debt & Equity Capital Market and Fund Financing, with Italian and International Private Equity firms. He joined Intesa Sanpaolo Group in the Financial Sponsor Group in 2017, after having headed the Mergers & Acquisitions and Co-Headed the Corporate Finance desks at Société Générale CIB in Italy. Matteo graduated at Luigi Bocconi University with an economic and finance degree.
