Created market leadership position for Edelweiss stressed asset business over a span of last 12 years starting from inception. Currently responsible for overview on $6.5 billion AUM, with specific focus on acquisition and resolution of all large cases with total debt in excess of $500 million. Closure of over 25 large asset acquisitions over the last 5 years including marquee transactions in the stressed asset investing market.
Fund Manager & key person involved in the largest fund ever raised by an Indian asset manager being the Edelweiss India Special Assets Fund (EISAF – 2) of $ 1.3 billion from the most marquee global investors over a period of last 2 years. Currently deployed with more than $1 billion this is one of the best performing funds in distressed asset space.
Instrumental in starting relationship with CDPQ for Edelweiss and equity deal closure in span of 9 months including structuring, negotiations, documentation and finalization of partnership with co-ordination of teams across risk, compliance corporate, and legal at Edelweiss. Closely working with consulting and law firms to provide relevant insights from an investor perspective to the law makers so as to improve the efficacy of the Insolvency and Bankruptcy code.

Pallavi Ail has been a senior reporter for Debtwire since 2015, covering India's leveraged and distressed debt markets as well as the evolution and implementation of the Insolvency & Bankruptcy Code. She has had numerous celebrated scoops, including on Essar Steel India’s bankruptcy process and Reliance Communication’s failure to service its debt. Prior to joining Debtwire, she reported on Indian pharmaceuticals, energy utilities and banking for Financial Express. Her education was in journalism, law and accounting.
Reshmi covers distressed and restructuring situations. She has a master’s degree from Northwestern University Medill School of Journalism as well as an MPP from the University of Chicago, and a bachelor’s degree from Bryn Mawr College.
Archie joined Muzinich in March 2019. He oversees the firm’s responsible investing and internal corporate responsibility commitments. Archie joined after leading the UN-supported Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI) fixed income and private markets programmes for seven years. Previously, Archie worked as a corporate sustainability consultant with Net Balance (EY Climate Change & Sustainability Services) and ESG research and engagement specialist with Regnan. Archie holds a Master of Environmental Management from the University of New South Wales and an MA (Hons) in Hispanic studies from the University of Edinburgh. He also holds the Investment Management Certificate (IMC) from the CFA Society.
Vaibhav joined Cantor Fitzgerald in 2017 to lead the performing and distressed loan trading business in Asia. Under his leadership, Cantor has traded over USD1.2bn of loans in face value in India and has concluded private debt transactions aggregating USD 260mn. Before joining Cantor, Vaibhav spent 12 years at Axis Bank, across capital markets, origination and syndication businesses. Most recently, Vaibhav led the loan syndication and portfolio management business at Axis Bank.
Lynn joined CDH Mezzanine and Credit Investment Team in 2017. Prior to CDH, She was a Director of Structure Finance, Global Markets, Deutsche Bank China. Lynn received her bachelor’s degree from Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics and MBA in Finance from Duke University. She has 18 years of experience in investment and financing, with a total investment amount exceeding US$2bn.
Fred supports all aspects of the decision-making process of the Private Credit Team, including sourcing, structuring, reviewing, and negotiating deal opportunities.
Prior to joining Adams Street, he was a Vice President at Goldman Sachs. In this role, he focused on investing capital out of various private debt vehicles, including the firm's first Business Development Company (BDC), as well as managing initial credit reviews, structuring the financing, business due diligence, participating in Investment Committee approval, negotiating deal terms, and coordinating legal documentation.
Fred’s other experience includes a Vice President role at Fifth Street Asset Management, an Associate role at Greenhill & Co. and Golden Arc Capital, and an Analyst position at Banc of America Securities. He commenced his career at Lehman Brothers, as an Analyst within the Credit Derivatives team.
He is a member of Adams Street’s Private Credit Investment Committee.
Ryan Chung is the head and founder of Huatai International’s private credit investment arm and manages fund portfolio of over US$1.5 billion in AUM. Ryan has over 20 years of experience in secured private debt, quasi-debt and private equity investments. He was responsible for an aggregate of US$2.3 billion private capital investments throughout the Asia region across 12 countries.
Prior to Huatai, Ryan was a founding partner of the semi-sovereign China-ASEAN Investment Fund specializing in private equity investments in the ASEAN region. He has also served at the investment banking team of UBS and structured financing team of Citi. Prior to that, Ryan was a Chartered Civil Engineer in the U.K. and Hong Kong. He earned two master degrees in Civil Engineering and in Finance from Imperial College London and Cass Business School London respectively.
Mr. Colcord is a managing director for CarVal Investors, responsible for originating and executing investment opportunities in emerging markets and loan portfolios across Asia. Mr. Colcord first joined Cargill in 1993 in the Strategy and Business Development Group in Minneapolis. In 1997, Mr. Colcord moved to Shanghai to start Cargill’s Trade and Structured Finance Group’s office there. In 2004, he transferred to CarVal Investors where he led China investments until 2014. Mr. Colcord rejoined CarVal in 2017 after working as an independent consultant to funds investing in Greater China. Prior to joining Cargill, Mr. Colcord worked in investment banking for Kidder, Peabody & Co. in New York and Hong Kong. Mr. Colcord received his M.B.A. from the Harvard Business School and his B.A. in economics and psychology from Yale College, graduating magna cum laude.

Mr. Damek is a Partner in the Ares SSG Group, where he is responsible for identifying, assessing and executing credit and special situations investments in South East Asia. Prior to joining Ares in 2020, Mr. Damek worked as a Managing Director of the SSG Group since 2009 and was instrumental in growing the firm's South East Asia business, originating, structuring, executing and managing investments. Previously, Mr. Damek was an Associate in the Asia Special Situations Group at Lehman Brothers, where he focused on special situations and distressed investments. Prior to Lehman, Mr. Damek was a consultant with Bain & Company in Singapore and in the UK, where he advised clients across a number of industries and geographies on strategic issues, including business turnaround, cost reduction, market entry and acquisitions. Mr. Damek holds a B.A. in Natural Sciences, an M.Sc. in Physics from Cambridge University and an M.B.A. from INSEAD, France.
Brian Dillard joined KKR in 2006 and is a Partner and Head of Asia Credit. Prior to moving to Asia in 2018, Mr. Dillard was a portfolio manager for KKR's Special Situations funds and portfolios in New York. Before joining the Special Situations team, Mr. Dillard was a member of KKR's Private Equity Team and has been involved with several investments, including KKR's investment in Oriental Brewery. In 2008 and 2009, Mr. Dillard worked in Hong Kong assisting in the development of KKR's Asian operations. Prior to joining KKR, Mr. Dillard was at Morgan Stanley & Co. in its mergers and acquisitions investment banking group, where he was involved in a number of merger, acquisition, and financing transactions. Mr. Dillard graduated from Harvard College and received an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.
Kerry Dolan is a Managing Director on the Credit Investments team at the Public Sector Pension Investment Board (PSP Investments). She has over 20 years of investing and leveraged finance experience. Kerry joined PSP Investments in January 2016 and has held various responsibilities including risk, underwriting and portfolio management. She is currently Head of Originations.
Prior to joining PSP Investments, Kerry was a Director, Leveraged Finance and Coverage at Barclays Capital in New York, where she managed all phases of financings, from origination to execution, documentation and closing. She previously worked at Bank of America Securities and for the Investment Banking Division of Goldman Sachs.
Kerry holds a Bachelor of Arts in Finance from Boston College and a Master of Business Administration from Cornell University, where she was a Park Leadership Fellow.
Since the inception of its Private Debt group in November 2015, PSP Investments has led, structured or anchored debt transactions for leading sponsors, including Apollo Global Management, The Carlyle Group, Bain Capital, KKR, Oak Hill Capital Partners, Thoma Bravo and GTCR.
Ted joined BCP Credit in New York in 2017 to lead BCP Credit. Previously, Ted was President at Apollo Investment Corporation and the Chief Investment Officer of Apollo Investment Management where he was the head of its US Opportunistic Platform and also oversaw the Private Origination business, serving as a member of the Senior Management Committee. Prior to Apollo, he worked at Goldman Sachs for 13 years where he most recently ran the bank loan distressed investing desk. He was previously the head of Principal Capital Investing for the Special Situations Group.
Mr. Gorthy is the Senior Portfolio Manager responsible for directing the investment activities of the Avenue Asia Strategy and has over 23 years of investment experience in Asia. Prior to joining Avenue in 2014, Mr. Gorthy was a Managing Director and Partner at Pacific Alliance Group (“PAG”) in Hong Kong, where he was a Senior Portfolio Manager focusing on special situations and distressed investments. Prior to PAG, Mr. Gorthy was a Director in Deutsche Bank’s Asia-Pacific Distressed Products Group. Previously, he was a Director at Beacon Advisory Pte Ltd in Singapore, providing consulting and advisory services to Asian corporates and, before that, Mr. Gorthy worked in Deutsche Bank’s Corporate Finance and Investment Banking division.
Mr. Gorthy received a Bachelor of Technology (First with Distinction) from National Institute of Technology Warangal (1996) and a Post Graduate Diploma in Management from the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta (2000).
Ms. Han is the strategy head for Asia and other globally oriented strategies, serves on the Global Investment Council and is located in the Hong Kong office. Prior to joining GCM Grosvenor, she was a Managing Director at China Investment Corporation, where she co-managed the hedge fund allocation portfolio. Previously, she was an Investment Officer with Alternative Investment Solutions of UBS Global Asset Management with responsibilities in manager research and operational due diligence in Asia. Prior to joining UBS, she was an Associate Fund Manager with Value Partners Hong Kong, responsible for the research and investment of Hong Kong listed shares and China B shares. Prior to Value Partners, she served as a Manager with the Licensing Division of the Securities and Futures Commission in Hong Kong. She began her career with PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLP in the audit division as a Senior Accountant. Ms. Han holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accountancy from Chinese University of Hong Kong. She is a qualified accountant and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst® and Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst® designations.
Ben Hart is a Partner and Head of Investor Relations (Asia) at Adams Street Partners, where he focuses on the firm’s institutional and private wealth relationships across the region. Ben is a 25-year Asia resident with over 20 years’ experience in the venture-backed tech and private equity markets.
Prior to joining Adams Street, Ben worked at Swiss-based private equity firm Capital Dynamics, where he served as Managing Director and COO, Asia, overseeing the firm’s business development efforts in Asia and North America.
Before joining Capital Dynamics, Ben spent over a decade working with VC and PE-backed tech firms in China and across Asia on their market development strategies. He served as Managing Director, Asia, at Aircom International, and also held senior positions at Convergys Corporation, Alliance Digital, Inc., and the JM Network.

Ms. Kanchan Jain has 30 years of experience in corporate and structured finance, private credit, and loan and debt capital markets across Europe and Asia. She has worked in origination, structuring, underwriting, and risk management. As founder and head of BPEA Credit Group, Ms. Jain is responsible for the overall business across all its investment & non-investment functions. Over the last 11 years, Ms. Jain and the leadership team at BPEA Credit have led the creation and build-out of BPEA Credit into one of Asia's leading private credit management groups, focused on structured debt investments in the mid and large corporate sectors.
Before moving to India in 2008, Ms. Jain worked for 10 years in London as Managing Director, Co-Head of Structuring at HSBC, and before that as Director at Barclays Capital in the Structured Credit business. Before that, Ms. Jain worked in the Asian debt capital markets across debt syndication, loan trading & risk, based out of Hong Kong and in project finance based out of India. Ms. Jain has lived and worked in India, Asia & the UK and holds a Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering from VNIT and an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management, Kolkata.
Mr. Jang, Dong Hun has managed assets at domestic and foreign management companies for 34 years, and worked for various private and public agencies, including the Korean Financial Supervisory Service and Public Officials Benefit Association. Mr. Jang has extensive experience managing not only traditional assets, but alternative assets as well, which has drawn much attention in recent years. Mr. Jang also served as the representative fund manager of the National Pension Service’s Posco Corporate Partnership Fund in the amount of KRW 560 billion. Mr. Jang has contributed to establishing a global network for alternative investments as an advisor for the Alternative Investment Forum, a global capital market advisor for the Milken Institute, and the editorial advisor for Institutional Real Estate.

Chris Mikosh is the Portfolio Manager and Co-Founder of Tor Investment Management, a leading independent alternative credit manager in Asia with over $2.4 billion under management. Chris has over 25 years of direct credit investing and trading experience. Prior to Tor, he was Managing Director and Head Trader of the Asian Special Situations Group (ASSG) at Goldman Sachs (2000–2012). During his tenure, Chris was responsible for managing, sourcing, trading, and hedging a multi-asset class portfolio that averaged $3 billion. While at Goldman, Chris sat on the Asia Risk Committee and the Board of Goldman Sachs (Asia) Finance, the firm’s main investing entity in the region. Chris also sat on the Liquid Investing Committee for Non-Japan Asia, the Liquid Investing Committee for Japan, and the Illiquid Investing Committee in the US. Prior to Goldman, Chris spent four years at Lazard Frères as a desk analyst and then as Head Trader of the distressed and high-yield debt desk. Prior to that, he spent two years as a banker in Chase Securities’ high-yield origination group. Chris earned a dual degree BS in Finance and Computer Science/Management Information Systems from Boston College in 1994. He is a member of the board of the Christina Noble Children’s Foundation in Hong Kong.
Mr. Panossian is a managing director and Oaktree’s Head of Performing Credit, as well as portfolio manager for Oaktree’s Strategic Credit strategy. His responsibilities include oversight of the firm’s performing credit activities including the senior loan, high yield bond, convertibles, structured credit, emerging markets debt, mezzanine and direct-lending strategies. Mr. Panossian joined Oaktree in 2007 as a senior member of its Distressed Debt investment team. In January 2014, he joined the U.S. Senior Loan team to assume co-portfolio management responsibilities and lead the development of Oaktree’s CLO business. Mr. Panossian joined Oaktree from Pequot Capital Management, where he worked on their distressed debt strategy. Mr. Panossian received a B.A. degree in economics with honors and distinction from Stanford University, where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. Mr. Panossian then went on to receive an M.S. degree in health services research from Stanford Medical School and J.D. and M.B.A. degrees from Harvard Law School and Harvard Business School. Mr. Panossian serves on the Advisory Board of the Stanford Institute for Economic Policy Research. He is a member of the State Bar of California.
Gregory Park is the Head of Lending Ark Fund and also Chairman of the Investment Committee. Based in Hong Kong since 1997, Mr. Park has over 27 years of experience in secured private debt financing, structured credit, and securitisation. He previously served as a Managing Director and the Head of Asia Structured Credit for The Carlyle Group LP (“Carlyle”). Before joining Carlyle, Mr. Park was a Founder and Managing Partner of Northstone Peak Investment Advisors Limited (“Northstone Peak”), an alternative credit manager focused on secured private debt financing for government agencies, banks, non-bank finance companies, and corporates across the Asia-Pacific region. Prior to Northstone Peak, Mr. Park was a Managing Director and the Head of Asia Securitised Products for Deutsche Bank. Mr. Park has contributed to the development of the Asian credit markets pioneering the first international credit card-backed asset backed securities (“ABS”) transaction for LG Card in South Korea, the first cross-border residential mortgage-backed securities (“RMBS”) transaction for Hsin Hchu Bank in Taiwan, and the first consumer/SME loan-backed financings for leading financial technology (“FinTech”) alternative lenders. He was named by Institutional Investor magazine as a top 10 “Global Securitization Rising Star” in 2008. Mr. Park received a BA cum laude from Dartmouth College in the United States.
Rob Petty is Co-CEO and Co-CIO of Fiera Capital (Asia). Since founding the Clearwater Funds in 2001 along with Amit Gupta, they have invested profitably across credit market cycles, investment sectors and geographies, building an Asia-focused business that is one of the oldest and largest credit investing firms in the region. Today, Rob leads an Asia-dedicated credit investment team, with broad expertise in Asia incorporating strategies across direct lending, secondary credit and special situations through multiple pools of capital.
Rob is responsible for Fiera Capital’s Asian Credit business, along with Amit Gupta. Prior to founding Clearwater, for fifteen years, Rob worked as a capital committer for international and Asian credits at Lehman Brothers, Peregrine Fixed Income, and with Marc Lasry at Amroc Investments.
Rob lives in Hong Kong and holds a bachelor of arts degree in Political Science from Brown University. Rob has served on multiple for-profit and non-profit boards over his 35-year career and currently sits on the board of two China-based portfolio companies and EngenderHealth, a non-profit organization that focuses on women’s health worldwide.
Sandrine joined Muzinich in 2014. She is the Head of Private Debt in France and the Co-Head of the Pan-European Fund. Prior to joining Muzinich, Sandrine was at AXA IM for 10 years where she worked in the Fixed Income Department, the Leveraged Loans Division and co-founded the private debt expertise. Prior to AXA IM, Sandrine was an Equities Sell-Side Analyst for seven years; three of which were at Exane. She graduated from ISG (business school), from SFAF (French financial Analysts association) and holds the CAIA designation.
Mr. Ruberton is a Senior Partner at Apollo, having joined in 2004. He currently serves as the Global Co-Head of Hybrid Value. Prior to joining Apollo, Rob spent four years at Arsenal Capital Partners, a middle-market private equity fund. Before that, he was an investment banker at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette from 1997 to 2000. Mr. Ruberton graduated cum laude from Harvard College with an AB in Economics in 1997. He is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Peddie School and of Montclair Kimberley Academy.
Kapil joined True North in 2021 as Managing Partner, Credit. He is responsible for establishing a best-in-class Credit platform for investing in private credit for the True North Platform. He has 25 years of investing experience in Credit in a variety of roles encompassing origination, structuring, trading and fund management.
Prior to joining True North, he was the Head of India Credit at KKR. In his recent roles, he also co-headed the Edelweiss Special Opportunities Fund and ran the India trading desk at Goldman Sachs. In the early part of his career, he was also associated with ICICI Bank as VP, Corporate Credit, with GE Capital as the Regional Head and with Deutsche Bank as Director, Credit Trading.
He holds an Electrical Engineering degree from IIT, Delhi and an MBA from Faculty of Management Studies, Delhi.
Josh Stern joined the Investment Office of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation in January 2012. At the Foundation Mr. Stern is part of the group overseeing all private investments. Mr. Stern came to the Foundation from Rockefeller University where he was responsible for the private investment portfolio. In that role he oversaw a portfolio of Venture Capital, Buyout and Growth Capital and Real Assets investments. Previously he worked at Standard & Poor's as a director in the Higher Education and Not-for-Profit Group, which was part of the Public Finance Department. At S&P Mr. Stern worked closely with a large number of universities and foundations across the United States. Over the course of his career he also worked as an investment banker, focusing on higher education institutions. Mr. Stern received an M.P.A. in public finance from the Maxwell School at Syracuse University, an M.S. in non-profit management from New York University and a B.A. in history and sociology from Binghamton University.
Richard is Head of Private Markets & Alternatives, APAC, responsible for growing Franklin Templeton’s alternative business in Asia. In the role, Richard develops country level strategies and partners with various alternative investment groups, plus product and distribution teams, to generate new product solutions that meet the needs of the firm’s institutional and more sophisticated clients in the Asia region.
Richard brings with him over two decades of experience in the financial industry. He spent seven years at Algebris Investments where he was responsible for capital raising for their long-only and alternative investment strategies with specific market coverage of APAC and the Middle East. Prior to this role he was Co-Head APAC for Legal & General Investment Management, Head of Transition Management Asia at Morgan Stanley and Head of Regional Sales for the Bank of New York Mellon in Singapore.
Richard holds a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Arizona State University.
Tor Trivers is a Managing Director and Head of Private Credit Group at CDIB Capital. Prior to joining, he was Managing Director of Asia Structured Credit at The Carlyle Group. He led the Carlyle Asia Structured Credit Opportunities Fund which invested in privately sourced, structured and negotiated transactions financing growing middle-market borrowers such as banks, NBFIs and corporates. Prior to Carlyle, Tor was a Partner of Northstone Peak Investment Advisors Limited, an alternative credit advisory focusing on structured financings across the Asia region. Prior to that, he was a Director at Natixis North America, where he focused on structured financing transactions facing hedge funds, alternative asset managers, REITs and finance companies. Tor also has experience in Fixed Income Sales at Nomura Securities International where he focused on MBS, CMBS and financing client assets.

Mr. Wei is a managing director for CarVal Investors, responsible for managing corporate securities investments in Asia. Prior to joining CarVal in 2018, Mr. Wei was a portfolio manager with BFAM Partners in Hong Kong where he managed investments in performing, stressed and distressed assets. Prior to joining BFAM, Mr. Wei held positions with JP Morgan Partners, Goldman Sachs’ Special Situations Group and Arkkan Capital focusing on emerging markets distressed, high-yield, private equity and structured products. Mr. Wei earned his M.B.A. from the MIT Sloan School of Management, an M.P.A. from Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government and his B.A. from the University of California at Santa Barbara.
Terence has 13 years of experience as a financial journalist in Asia covering fixed income, ECM and commodities. He joined Debtwire in 2012 first covering primary high-yield bond market and has expanded his coverage to private credits since 2018. Terence first started covering HK equity capital market in 2006 as a reporter for Now TV, and had worked as an investment personnel for a Chinese conglomerate and as a project manager for a private equity firm.
Celia Yan, Managing Director, is the Head of APAC Private Credit within BlackRock Portfolio Management Group, and is the Lead Portfolio Manager of BlackRock’s APAC Private Credit funds and Chair of the Investment Committee. She is responsible for leading the platform, originating and executing investment opportunities, managing the investment process, and maintaining relationships with key deal sources and intermediaries across APAC. Celia serves on BlackRock's Global Private Debt Executive Committee and APAC Operating Committee (APOP).
Prior to joining BlackRock in 2020, Celia was the Head of Greater China with ADM Capital where she joined in 2011. As a senior private credit investor, she led the overall investment strategy and specialized in sourcing and executing private credit investments with Chinese angles, including inbound deals to mainland China and outbound deals across Asia and globally. Prior to that, Celia worked for National Australia Bank in Melbourne, where she advised on investment, performance and risk analysis solutions. Celia has a Bachelor of Commerce from The University of Melbourne (Australia), and a Master of Applied Econometrics from Monash University (Australia).
Tim Burroughs is managing editor of Asian Venture Capital Journal, having joined the publication in May 2011. He is responsible for all editorial content put out under the AVCJ brand, including Asian Venture Capital Journal, AVCJtv, AVCJ Awards and AVCJ.com. Tim previously spent five years at China Economic Review, serving as editor-in-chief and then editorial director. Located in Greater China since 2003, during which time he has lived in Beijing, Qingdao and Hong Kong, Tim has been a China-based contributor for publications including The Sunday Times, Sunday Telegraph, BBC and China Daily. Prior to moving to China, he trained and worked as a journalist in the UK. He was honored at the Society of Publishers in Asia awards in 2007, 2008 and 2010, and at the State Street Institutional Press Awards - Asia in 2012.
