Ling Yang is China Editor for Mergermarket, a global news intelligence service for advisors, private equity firms and corporates. She heads a team of dedicated specialists across China to cover corporate growth strategies, M&A deals, PE buyouts, cross-border M&A intelligence, as well as data-backed analysis and trend pieces.
Ling has been an investigative M&A reporter for 12 years with a special focus on private equity coverage. She was the head of consumer and retail coverage for APAC with Mergermarket. She joined Mergermarket in Hong Kong in 2011 before moving to Shanghai in 2016.
Dr. Lanyi is a senior Private Equity professional with 19 years of experience. Based in Singapore, he currently serves as a Managing Partner at CDH Investments, where he co-leads CDH's Southeast Asian and global 'Cross-border' investment activities.
Established in 2001, CDH is one of the most well-established alternative assets fund management companies in China, managing close to US$20billion in client assets across different strategies and funds. The firm specializes in investment opportunities in the consumer and healthcare sectors.
Prior to joining CDH, Dr. Lanyi held senior roles at Mekong Capital and Templeton Private Equity. Dr. Lanyi lived in Vietnam between 2007-2012 and continues to manage CDH's office in HCMC.
Mr. David Wong, is partner and co-head of private equity at alternative investment firm PAG. Mr. Wong is responsible for managing PAG’s private equity business in China.
Mr. Wong has 25 years of professional experience, including 14 years at PAG. Prior to PAG, Mr. Wong worked previously at TPG Capital (formerly Newbridge Capital) as in the investment banking division of Morgan Stanley.
Mr. Wong is chairman of Newland Commercial Management (formerly Wanda Commercial Management), the leading retail property management firm; chairman of Yingde Gas, a leading industrial gas company; chairman of Xingyi Cinema, a leading cinema chain in China; chairman of Nerviano Medical Sciences, an innovative pharmaceutical company based in Italy; chairman of % ARABICA, a high-end coffee chain, deputy chairman of Sinopharm Leasing, and is a member of the board of a number of other PAG portfolio companies.
Mr. Wong graduated from the University of California, Berkeley.
Philip is a Founding Member and Managing Director of Primavera Capital. He sits on the Leadership Committee, Investment Committees, Strategic Partnerships Committee, Portfolio Management Committee, Sustainability Committee, Operations Committee, Risk Committee, among others. His board experience has been across for-profit and non-profit sectors.
Prior to Primavera, he held positions in investment banking based in Hong Kong and in a hedge fund based in San Francisco.
He holds a Bachelor of Science from Cornell University.
Globally, Primavera Capital manages USD20 billion in AUM with 100+ portfolio companies and 100+ professionals across PE, VC, and Credit strategies.
