Born on May 17, 1979, in Boston, Massachusetts, Pandu Patria Sjahrir is a distinguished Indonesian entrepreneur and investor specializing in energy transition and the digital economy. With over two decades of experience, he has played a pivotal role in advancing Indonesia’s financial technology, digital infrastructure, and sustainable energy initiatives. Pandu holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Chicago (2001), an MBA from Stanford University (2007), and an Executive MBA from Tsinghua University’s One Belt One Road Program (2020).
Key Roles and Achievements
Pandu Patria Sjahrir has played a pivotal role in Indonesia’s investment and business landscape, particularly in energy transition, digital infrastructure, and financial technology. As the first employee and Vice President of PT TBS Energi Utama Tbk (2010 – 2025), he has led the company’s transformation into a key player in sustainable energy, with a commitment to carbon neutrality by 2030. His leadership extends to Electrum, driving the development of Indonesia’s electric vehicle ecosystem. In the fintech sector, he has chaired the Indonesia Fintech Association (AFTECH) since 2021, advocating for digital financial inclusion and regulatory advancements. Elected Chairman of the Electric Mobility Ecosystem Association (AEML) in 2025, he continues to champion Indonesia’s transition to electric mobility. As Founding Partner of AC Ventures (2020 –2025) and Managing Partner of Indies Capital Partners (2017 – 2025), he has backed major startups such as Gojek, Sea Limited, and Bukalapak, fostering innovation and economic growth. His contributions also include serving as Commissioner of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (2020 – 2024) and holding key roles in APINDO and the Indonesian Surfing Association to promote investment and sports development.
Mr. Andre Jonathan Cahyadi is Vice President of Investments at INA, Indonesia’s first sovereign wealth fund. He’s responsible to oversee the entire deal lifecycle andjoined INA in early 2022 as one of its first investment team.His experience in INA spans across healthcare, infrastructure, and digital sectors. He currently co-leads the healthcare investment practice at INA. Deal examples include INA’s investment into the largest pharmacy and clinics chain in Indonesia, as well as building Indonesia’s first (and Southeast Asia’s largest) blood plasma fractionation facility.Prior to joining INA, he worked as a Senior Manager at the Indonesian office of the global management consulting firm Bain & Company, and before that, as an Investment Analyst in Quvat Capital. Mr Cahyadi graduated with a double degree in Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics and Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science from Pelita Harapan University in Indonesia. He is also a CFA Charterholder.
Huai Fong is the Regional Lead for the East Asia & the Pacific PE Funds team of the International Finance Corporation (“IFC”) where she is responsible for leading investments into funds in the region.
Prior to joining IFC, Huai Fong spent five years with Deutsche Investitions-Und Entwicklungsgesellschaft MBH (“DEG”) where she had a primary coverage of Southeast Asia. She led fund investments and co-investments in the region as well as managed a portfolio of funds through her Advisory Committee positions. Before DEG, Huai Fong was with UOB Venture Management where she did direct equity investments into growth stage companies in Southeast Asia and China.
Huai Fong holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management and in Economics (Honors and Dean’s list) from the Singapore Management University. She has also passed all three levels of the Chartered Financial Analyst program.
Since July 2019, he has served as a Vice Chairman of CT Bright Holdings, a wholly owned investment subsidiary of C.P. Group, where he coordinates investment activities and strategic partnerships for the Chairman’s office across C.P. Group companies.Mr. Glodek has served as a Senior Advisor to C.P. Group Chairman Soopakij Chearavanont since July 2018.
From June 2017 to June 2018, he was managing partner of R3 Capital Partners. From September 2011 to May 2017, Mr. Glodek was a Deputy CEO of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) and a Director of the Russia China Investment Fund (RCIF), where he coordinated investment activity and a number of key strategic partnerships with Sovereign Wealth Funds and Pension Funds across the world to invest in Russia and selectively in China.
Prior to RDIF, Mr. Glodek was based in Warsaw, Poland where he led a regional office of Darby Private Equity, a wholly owned private markets investment arm of Franklin Templeton and in Germany where he co-founded surplex.com, an industrial equipment internet trading platform. Earlier in his career, Mr. Glodek worked at a private equity firm Clayton, Dubilier & Rice in both New York and London and as an M&A investment banker at Goldman Sachs and Lehman Brothers in New York.Mr. Glodek received a B.A. in Economics with Honors from Stanford University and an M.B.A. from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
Director of Asia Investments for Japan Post Investment’s private equity fund investment advisory program. Before being assigned to Japan Post Investment, he was involved in the Asia private equity investment program in Japan Post Bank. Prior to joining Japan Post Bank in February 2022, he contributed to private equity fund investment, private debt fund investment, structured finance, and corporate finance at Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Bank, in both Tokyo and New York offices. He holds a M.A. in Economics and a B.A. in Liberal Arts, from Waseda University in Japan.
John focuses on private equity fund commitments and equity co-investments of Manulife’s affiliates including the general account across the Asia-Pacific region. He joined the firm in 2009 and has worked in the private equity group since 2011. John holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
Dr. Amit Kakar joined Novo Holdings Asia in August 2020 as Head of Asia to lead investments and partnerships across the region, focusing primarily on the markets in China, Southeast Asia and India. Dr. Kakar has more than 25 years of healthcare experience with several senior management roles across the globe and having worked in India, China, Singapore, Denmark and the USA.
His previous roles include Head of M&A and Business Development at Everlife Asia, Head of Healthcare Investments for Asia with the Avenue Capital Group, and various senior leadership positions with GE Healthcare. Dr. Kakar is a Medical Doctor with a postgraduate degree in Radiation and Nuclear Medicine from Tata Memorial Hospital and Cancer Centre in Mumbai, India.
Prior to Coller, Pak-Seng was a Managing Director and Head of Private Wealth Distribution APAC of Blue Owl Capital. Before that, he was a Managing Director and Head of Private Markets APAC at UBS AG. He has more than 20 years of experience in global private equity investments in US, Europe and Asia. Before UBS, he was a Managing Partner of two China private equity funds. He was the Head of Asia and Managing Director of Auda Private Equity, a global alternative investment firm. Before Auda, he was the Head of Investment Process at Schroder Adveq, a global private equity fund of funds based in Switzerland. Previously, he held positions at Transpac Capital and Singapore Technologies, where he was primarily engaged in private equity investments in Asia. He has also worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers.Pak-Seng earned an MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management and a BA from National University of Singapore
Sangmyung Lee is a Director at the Private Equity Group of KIC. Since joining KIC in 2013, he took responsibility for Venture Capital and Growth Equity investments in the Private Equity Group.
Sangmyung Lee also serves as a Strategist for the Private Equity Group.Since 2022, he has been a lecturer at the Korea Venture Capital Institution (KVCI), where he teaches Overseas VC investment to junior staff of local VC firms in Korea. In 2023, he was invited as a panelist to the Nobel Prize Dialogue in Seoul, where he discussed "AI and Future Learning."
Mr. Lee has a bachelor’s degree in Economics with honors Summa Cum Laude from the University of California Berkeley.
Ankur Meattle is Head of Asia Private Equity Funds & Co-Investments at GIC. As part of this role, Ankur oversees our Asian private equity funds programme, as well as co-investment deals alongside GPs. In addition, Ankur co-chairs the ASEAN Business Group (ABG), which helps coordinate overall ASEAN investment strategy across GIC.
Ankur joined GIC in 2004 and has been part of various teams within the GIC Asia Private Equity organisation. Before joining GIC, he was a Manager with Arthur D Little, a strategy consulting firm, in Singapore. He has also worked with PwC and KPMG in India.
Ankur is an Advisor to the Investment Committee of the Singapore Management University (SMU).
Ankur holds a Bachelor of Technology from the Indian Institute of Technology (Delhi) and a Master of Business Administration from Duke University.
Sunil Mishra specializes in the sourcing and execution of Asian investments ex-China, specifically in India, Australia, Japan, Southeast Asia, and Korea.
Prior to joining Adams Street, Sunil worked for Standard Chartered Bank in Singapore performing financial and business analyses of local and regional companies. Previously, Sunil worked in India as an Investment and Strategy Associate in Tacogroup, the automotive technology and engineering investment arm of the Tata Group of India, where he worked on business planning, feasibility studies, and localization plans for new ventures.
Sunil manages relationships with several of Adams Street’s managers and sits on advisory boards of more than a dozen private equity firms within the Adams Street Partners portfolio.
Sunil is a member of Adams Street’s Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Committee.
Yar-Ping specializes in fund selection, due diligence, negotiations, and monitoring of Asian investments. She participates in all investment decisions and manages relationships with several of Adams Street's GPs in the region.
Prior to joining Adams Street, she was a Senior Vice President of GIC Special Investments (GICSI), which is the private equity arm of the Government of Singapore Investment Corporation. Yar-Ping spent more than a decade at GIC and worked in their New York, Redwood City, and Singapore offices. She was the Head of Asia/Emerging Markets based out of Singapore, leading GIC Private Equity’s investments in leveraged buyout funds, growth capital funds, and co-investments.
Yar-Ping is a member of Adams Street’s Primary Investment Committee.
Ms TANG Hsiao Ching is the Head of Investor Solutions, Private Wealth at Seviora Capital.
Prior to joining Azalea in 2023, Ms Tang led investor relations at a multi-family office that offers investment management solutions across private markets and public markets. Prior to that, she accumulated over 16 years of experience in private wealth. She worked for more than six years at Bank of Singapore, where she was Managing Director and Head of Advisory and Sales, Managed Investments, leading teams to provide advisory services in funds and discretionary portfolio mandates.
Her previous roles also included Head of Funds Solutions for Julius Baer, Asia where she led fund advisory and fund due diligence teams, and BNP Paribas Wealth Management, providing investment advisory services for alternative and mutual funds. She also served 8 years at Temasek Holdings, focusing on private equity funds, direct investments as well as postinvestment work with portfolio banks.Ms Tang has a BA (Hons) and MA (Oxon) in Philosophy, Politics and Economics, University of Oxford, UK. She is a Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) Charter holder.
Mervin has almost two decades of private equity, alternatives and management consulting experience. Mervin joined Fullerton in 2022 and is responsible for deal sourcing, execution and portfolio company management for the Fullerton Carbon Action Fund, a US$400m Asia focused decarbonization private equity fund launched in 2024.
Mervin was previously a founding member of Quadria Capital, one of Asia’s largest private equity firms with over US$3.4 billion in assets under management, where he spent the last 10 years driving its Southeast Asia business. He was also a founding executive committee member of Investors for Health (i4H). Prior to that, he spent over 4 years across alternative investments and management consulting at Mizuho and PwC, respectively. He holds a Master of Science in Applied Finance from Singapore Management University, Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Melbourne and completed the Mini MD executive education program at ESSEC Business School.
Tim Burroughs is managing editor of Asian Venture Capital Journal, having joined the publication in May 2011. He is responsible for all editorial content put out under the AVCJ brand, including Asian Venture Capital Journal, AVCJtv, AVCJ Awards and AVCJ.com. Tim previously spent five years at China Economic Review, serving as editor-in-chief and then editorial director. Located in Greater China since 2003, during which time he has lived in Beijing, Qingdao and Hong Kong, Tim has been a China-based contributor for publications including The Sunday Times, Sunday Telegraph, BBC and China Daily. Prior to moving to China, he trained and worked as a journalist in the UK. He was honored at the Society of Publishers in Asia awards in 2007, 2008 and 2010, and at the State Street Institutional Press Awards - Asia in 2012.
Shane Chesson is Founder and Partner of Openspace Ventures (formerly NSI Ventures), a Singapore-headquartered VC focused on Series A and B investments in Southeast Asia-based technology companies. Selected Openspace investments overseen by Mr. Chesson include Go-Jek, Chope, Tradegecko, CXA, Topica, Oway, HaloDoc, Sale Stock and Pathao. Mr. Chesson was previously Managing Director and Co-Head (Technology Investment Banking, of Citigroup Asia-Pacific.
Mr. Chesson has an MBA with distinction from INSEAD Singapore where he was a recipient of the IAA Asian Campus scholarship.
Wei Teck is part of the founding team of Keppel Credit and is actively involved in the origination and structuring of transactions at the fund. He has over 20 years of experience in debt financing, with a focus in originating high-yield, mezzanine, structured and private credit transactions.
Derby Chukwudi is a Private Wealth Alternative Investments Advisor in Asia Pacific with J.P.Morgan Asset Management based in Hong Kong. In this role, she partners closely with our sales and investments teamsto distribute J.P.Morgan Asset Management’s Alternative Solutions to clients across APAC, with a focus on Singapore & Southeast Asia, Australia and J.P.Morgan Private Bank. Prior to this, she was part of the Global Investment Strategy team at J.P.Morgan U.S. Private Bank in New York where she partnered with market strategists, investment specialists and senior leadership to shape the narrative of business priorities and high conviction investment ideas. Derby was also an integral member of the New Jersey Private Bank team providing investment solutions and advice to ultra-high net worth individual clients, endowments, foundations and family offices with over $6bn in AUM.
Willson Cuaca is the Co-Founder and Managing Partner at East Ventures, a pioneering and leading sector-agnostic venture capital firm in Southeast Asia. Willson transformed East Ventures into a multi-asset platform, managing multiple funds from seed to growth with over 300 portfolio companies across Southeast Asia, including Indonesia which is the firm's central focus.
Under Willson’s leadership, East Ventures captured Indonesia's early wave of digital transformation and is an early backer of some of the largest tech companies in Southeast Asia, such as Tokopedia, Traveloka, Ruangguru, waresix, Sociolla, ShopBack, Mighty Jaxx, Xendit, Fore Coffee, and IDN.

In 2020, Willson was listed in Asia’s Top 100 People Transforming Business by Business Insider. Willson was also named Fortune Indonesia Businessperson of the Year 2022.
Mr. Ferrier is a Managing Partner of Navis Private Credit. Mr. Ferrier has more than 30 years of experience, which includes more than 20 years as a credit investor, portfolio manager and business leader.
Previously he was a Managing Director at BlackRock where he played a pivotal role in building BlackRock’s Asian-Pacific Private Credit business, growing AUM to $700m and developing a successful regional strategy focusing on Southeast Asia and Australia.
Prior to BlackRock, he was the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Myo Capital. The fund delivered 14% gross returns. Prior to Myo Capital he was a Director / Investment Committee Member with ADM Capital and a Corporate Finance Executive with Peregrine Capital and SG Warburg Group.
Mr. Ferrier holds an MBA, majoring in Finance and Accounting from Monash University and a Bachelor in Science from the University of South Australia.
Mr. Edwin Fua is a Senior Partner of Navis based in Malaysia and an Investment Committee member. Mr. Fua joined Navis in 2006 and he is focused on deal origination and transactions in Malaysia, Indonesia and increasingly, in Philippines. He has been involved in evaluating investments across South East Asia including in Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines, India and Australia. His investment experience spans across the consumer, retail, medical, manufacturing, education and the retirement sectors. He also sits on and works closely with the Board of Directors and Executive Committees of several Navis portfolio companies in Malaysia and Australia.
Prior to joining Navis, Mr. Fua was involved in investment research, financial analysis and auditing in JP Morgan and in PwC. Mr. Fua was raised in Malaysia and educated in Malaysia and Australia.
He holds Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting & Finance) from Monash University, is a qualified accountant with the Malaysian Institute of Accountants and is a Chartered Financial Analyst charterholder from 2009 to 2013.
Julie Garside is a M&A tax partner at KPMG Singapore with over 20 years’ experience in advising private equity clients on tax aspects of acquisitions, disposals, reorganisations and refinancings including capital markets transactions.
Prior to her role at KPMG Singapore, Julie was a M&A tax partner based in London working with a number of US and European private equity investors on large and complex cross-border transactions.
Boyu Hu is the founder of XVC, a 2-billion research-driven venture capital fund backed by endowments, foundations and sovereign wealth funds from US, Europe, and the Middle East. According to Preqin's latest league table, XVC II was ranked #1 best performing VC fund globally of the 2019 vintage in the 250-499 million category. Boyu excels at singling out 'big ideas' at early-stage, and some notable investments includes Kuaishou, Weee!, Hetao coding, Chagee, etc.The market value of his portfolio companies reached over 100 billion USD.
Before becoming an investor, Boyu had nearly 10 years of entrepreneurial experience. He co-founded China’s largest credit risk management software company, Amarsoft (SHE:300380), where he led the development of core product lines and helped the company achieve dominance in a highly competitive market and eventually go public
Philip is a Founding Member and Managing Director of Primavera Capital. He sits on the Leadership Committee, Investment Committees, Strategic Partnerships Committee, Portfolio Management Committee, Sustainability Committee, Operations Committee, Risk Committee, among others. His board experience has been across for-profit and non-profit sectors.
Prior to Primavera, he held positions in investment banking based in Hong Kong and in a hedge fund based in San Francisco.
He holds a Bachelor of Science from Cornell University.

Xander is the Head of Sales for the ASEAN region at Apex Group, a global financial services firm providing an extensive range of solutions across the full value chain to institutional asset managers, capital markets, corporates and family offices. He is an avid Top Gun fan who happens to be an experienced business development professional with over 10 years of experience in the financial services industry. In his current role, his is responsible for sales growth and client coverage across ASEAN.
Imran is a Managing Partner at Gaja Capital.

Imran has postgraduate degrees in software engineering from BITS-Pilani and an MBA from IIM-Bangalore.
Nainesh Jaisingh is a Founding Partner and Chief Executive Officer at Affirma Capital. He is based in Singapore and also directly manages the Private Equity business in South East Asia.
Prior to leading the MBO of Standard Chartered Private Equity (SCPE) to form Affirma Capital, Nainesh was a founding member of the business within Standard Chartered Bank in 2002, and most recently the Global Head of the Principal Finance business of the Bank.
Nainesh’s early career was with ANZ Investment Bank and ANZ Grindlays.He is an Engineer from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), BHU, and holds an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Bangalore.
Mohanjit Jolly is a founding Partner at Iron Pillar, an India-focused tech growth fund. He has 25 years of operating and global investment experience. Before Iron Pillar, Mohanjit was Managing Director at DFJ where he established and managed DFJ's India office between 2007 and 2012 before returning to Silicon Valley. Prior to DFJ, Mohanjit was a Managing Director at Garage Technology Ventures, a seed and early-stage venture capital fund. Mohanjit also served as a Vice President at Garage.com where he raised in excess of US$150 million for 25 early stage technology companies. Prior to Garage, Mohanjit was part of the strategic planning group at Mattel where he helped launch the Mattel / Intel joint venture, Intel Play. He also spent several years in both engineering and business development roles with Itek Optical Systems, a manufacturer of reconnaissance systems. Mohanjit has led Iron Pillar’s investments in Pando, Vyome, Uniphore, CoreStack, Ushur, Fold Health, Sibros and Jiffy.
Mohanjit earned his MBA from the Anderson School at UCLA, and has a BS and MS in aeronautics and astronautics from MIT. Mohanjit serves on the Board of The Unreasonable Group and the SETI Institute. He is also an advisor to Mars and Accenture Open Innovation Group. Mohanjit lives in Silicon Valley with his wife, three kids and two dogs!
Ashish Kotecha is a Partner at Bain Capital Private Equity, having joined the Firm in 2010. He leads their consumer and retail investments in India and Southeast Asia.
Ashish is a member of Bain Capital Asia’s investment committee and Asia Operating committee which oversees larger operating decisions for the fund. Ashish also leads Bain Capital’s Portfolio Group in Asia – a group, responsible for Bain’s value creation efforts within portfolio companies. As part of this, he actively works with many consumer companies across the region including India, Australia, China and Korea on strategy, operations and performance transformation topics.
Over the last 13 years, he has been personally actively involved in 12 of Bain Capital’s investments across Asia including Axis Bank, L&T Finance Holdings Limited and Hero Motocorp in India. Camp Australia, Only About Children in Australia. Hugel in Korea. Gymboree China, Rise Education and APMG in China.
He was also a Board Member of Axis Bank – India’s 3rd largest private bank. Prior to joining Bain Capital, Mr. Kotecha was the acting Chief Operating Officer at Tourneau, in New York – then the world’s 2nd largest luxury watch retailer and a Leonard Green & Partners portfolio company. He replaced the CEO of the business and successfully led a turnaround of the business through the global financial crisis in 2009. Earlier, he was an Associate Principal with McKinsey & Company, in San Francisco, where he led engagements in Retail, Consumer and Private Equity. He also co-founded their Retail Private Equity Service Line and spent time with McKinsey’s economic think tank (MGI), where he was part of a team that analyzed the impact of FDI in emerging economies, including India. Some of his work at McKinsey has been published in the McKinsey Quarterly and quoted in several external publications, including the Economist. Prior to that, he worked at Goldman Sachs and the Kotecha Group.
He received an MBA with Honors, from The Anderson School at UCLA, a Master of Commerce (Banking and Finance) and a Bachelor of Commerce (Financial Accounting and Auditing) from Sydenham College, University of Mumbai.
Som is a managing director in Private Credit within Goldman Sachs Asset Management, where he leads the direct lending, mezzanine, hybrid capital and structured credit investing strategies for the Asia Pacific region. Prior to assuming his current role, Som led Private Credit in India and South East Asia. He joined Goldman Sachs in 2015 as a managing director in the Asian Special Situations Group.
Prior to joining the firm, Som worked at ICICI Bank as head of Structured Finance and deputy manager of corporate banking, based in Mumbai. During his 14 years at ICICI Bank, he worked in various roles, including distressed asset management, structured finance and corporate banking.
Som earned an MSc in Mathematics from the University of Delhi and an MBA from Monash Mt. Eliza Business School.
Aravind leads Blackstone’s Private Equity Business in Southeast Asia and is based out of Singapore.
Since initially joining Blackstone in 2013, Mr. Krishnan has been involved in the execution of the firm’s investments in TaskUs, Aakash Education, Simplilearn, Xpressbees, Blue Yonder, and International Tractors. He currently serves on the boards of Simplilearn, Aakash Education, and Aakash Edutech.
Before joining Blackstone in 2013, Mr. Krishnan worked as a management consultant with McKinsey & Company. Mr. Krishnan received a Bachelor and Masters in Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology Madras and an MBA with High Distinction from the Harvard Business School, where he graduated as a Baker Scholar.
Prashant Kumar, based in Singapore, joined KKR in 2018 and is a Partner and the Head of the Southeast Asia Private Equity. Mr. Kumar has led a number of the firm’s investments, including Max Healthcare, JB Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals, Vini Cosmetics, and Advanta India. Prior to joining KKR, Mr. Kumar was a director and member of the investment committee at ChrysCapital, a leading India-focused private equity fund. Previously, he was with Warburg Pincus where led investments in various sectors. Prior to that, Mr. Kumar worked at Karsch Capital Management, a New York-based hedge fund, and SUN Capital, an emerging markets focused private equity firm. He began his career as a consultant with McKinsey & Company. Mr. Kumar holds a B.Tech. from the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi, a post-graduate diploma in management from the Indian Institute of Management Kolkata, and an M.B.A. from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
Dr. Lanyi is a senior Private Equity professional with 19 years of experience. Based in Singapore, he currently serves as a Managing Partner at CDH Investments, where he co-leads CDH's Southeast Asian and global 'Cross-border' investment activities.
Established in 2001, CDH is one of the most well-established alternative assets fund management companies in China, managing close to US$20billion in client assets across different strategies and funds. The firm specializes in investment opportunities in the consumer and healthcare sectors.
Prior to joining CDH, Dr. Lanyi held senior roles at Mekong Capital and Templeton Private Equity. Dr. Lanyi lived in Vietnam between 2007-2012 and continues to manage CDH's office in HCMC.
Desmond is currently a Partner at TPG NewQuest, based in Singapore. Desmond joined NewQuest in 2015 and is responsible for sourcing, execution and portfolio management of the firm’s investments across Southeast Asia. Desmond has 20 years of private equity experience in the Asia region and prior he was Managing Director of Fosun, where he led the Southeast Asia investment team.
Desmond’s private equity experience also includes prior roles with Morgan Stanley and Arctic Capital in Hong Kong, and CIMB Private Equity and Navis Capital Partners in Malaysia. Desmond started his career as a chartered accountant with Arthur Andersen in Malaysia. Desmond is a Fellow Chartered Accountant with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, and holds an undergraduate degree in Accounting and Finance from the University of Sheffield, England.
Jenny Lee, is a senior managing partner at Granite Asia. She leads global investor relations and strategy, and was instrumental in setting up GGV’s first China office in 2005 and re-opening the Singapore office in 2019.
A self-starter, an investor and an entrepreneur, Jenny spent the last 23 years overseas and is frequently the first to invest in new innovative applications and products. She is best known for investments in sectors like Edtech, Fintech, Food and Agritech, Metaverse, and Energy Sustainability and Automation Technologies. Her portfolio includes 21 companies valued at over $1 billion each. She has had 16 IPOs up to date, including one in 2023 and two in 2021 across five different global exchanges, and numerous portfolio companies exits via M&A. Jenny’s global investment track record over two decades and early operation and finance work experience with Singapore Aerospace in Singapore; Morgan Stanley, and JAFCO Asia in Hong Kong enhanced her role as a preferred board member with deep domain expertise and global investment experience.
Born and raised in Singapore, Jenny is highly respected in the Asia business community and serves as a board member of Temasek. She serves on the governing boards of both Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy and Duke-NUS Medical School. Chris Lerner is an Operating Partner for Bonaccord Capital in Asia and the CEO of its strategic partner in the region, Asia Heritage Management. Mr. Lerner also serves as the Executive Chairman the private markets investment holding company that owns and Thrive Alternatives.
Prior to launching his current group, Mr. Lerner served as a managing partner at MSA Capital where his role was to oversee the firm’s fundraising and institutional operations. Prior to MSA, Chris was a global partner and head of Asia for Eaton Partners where he turned around a dormant business into one of the region’s leading private market practices in fund placement, secondary advisory and strategy consulting. Under Chris’ decade long leadership, Eaton won numerous industry awards in Asia including Private Equity International’s fund placement firm of the year for four consecutive years, and two-time secondary advisor of the year. Mr. Lerner began his career with Citigroup and its predecessor firms, Salomon Brothers and Smith Barney. He was the firm’s first investment banking expatriate based in Mainland China and helped
establish and build the Asia Pacific Financial Institutions Group.
Chris received an MBA from Columbia Business School and a BA from Tufts University. He is an active member of the Young President’s Organization (YPO) and a Kauffman Fellow.
Adrian Li is an entrepreneur and veteran investor in the Indonesian and Southeast Asian tech industry. As Founder and Managing Partner of AC Ventures, he has invested in over 80 businesses in the past decade, including category leaders such as Stockbit, Shipper, Xendit, Koinworks, Julo, Carsome, and others.
With co-founding experience in both China and Indonesia, Adrian brings a unique perspective and valuable insights to any business. His first startup became the largest live online English training service in China before being acquired in 2010. Adrian then joined Rocket Internet as a Managing Director, building ventures in China and Southeast Asia. In 2014, he launched Convergence Ventures, which later became AC Ventures in 2019.
Adrian graduated from Cambridge University with a BA and MA in Economics and was elected a Hawk in recognition of his contributions to university and national-level judo. He obtained his MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business.
He is a business mentor at Endeavor, The Founders Institute, and Antler, and is a member of YPO. Adrian is also an endurance race enthusiast having completed over 15 70.3 events and as well as a Full Ironman.
Nicolo Magni is Head of Global Banking South East Asia & India for UBS. Prior to that Nicolo was Co-Head of the Strategic Equity Solutions Group ("SESG") for UBS in APAC as well as Head of Private Financing Markets ("PFM") for APAC. Nicolo is now based in Singapore from March 2020; he joined UBS in Hong Kong in 2011. Prior to that, Nicolo was at Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs and JPMorgan in London. Nicolo holds a Master degree from ESCP-EAP, Paris.
Brad McCarthy is a Managing Director and Head of Asia Pacific, Carlyle Global Wealth.
Mr. McCarthy is responsible for expanding Carlyle’s wealth platform across Asia Pacific. He also oversees the institutional wealth channel for Carlyle in Australia and New Zealand. He is based in Singapore.
Mr. McCarthy has over 25 years of wealth and asset management industry experience where he has led sales and client servicing teams, product launches and distribution strategies. He joined Carlyle from Citi Private Bank and Global Wealth, where he was Managing Director and Asia Pacific Head of Alternative Investment Sales. Prior to Citi, Mr. McCarthy was Head of Asia at Permal, where he was responsible for growing the firm’s regional business as an alternative investment provider. He has also held various investment and wealth management roles at ABN AMRO Asset Management and BT Financial Group.
Mr. McCarthy holds a Bachelor of Business from Queensland University of Technology, Australia, and is a Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA).
Raghubir Menon is a partner and is currently the regional practice head for M&A and PE at the firm (Mumbai region). Raghubir primarily works on matters pertaining to strategic M&A, listed company takeovers and private equity acquisitions. He advises numerous strategics, sovereign wealth funds and large private equity funds in relation to strategic opportunities and acquisitions in India. He has represented clients in large number of complex public M&A acquisitions in listed Indian companies.

Sean Murphy is a fund formation partner in Cooley’s Singapore office. Kyle’s private equity experience before ShawKwei & Partners included managing Asian private equity businesses for Security Pacific National Bank and then the Tudor Group. Kyle has served as a director of several Asian and European industrial and service companies including as founder and director of Flex Ltd. (formerly known as Flextronics International Ltd).

Eric Tam is a Managing Director, having joined Strategic Partners in 2016. Mr. Tam leads the international activities of Strategic Partners’ Real Estate funds and is responsible for establishing and leading Strategic Partners in Asia across all strategies. Mr. Tam sits on Strategic Partners’ Real Estate Investment Committee and is an advisory board member of multiple funds. Mr. Tam is based in Singapore after previously spending seven years in Strategic Partners’ London office.
Prior to joining Strategic Partners, Mr. Tam was a Vice President at H/2 Capital Partners, where he focused on commercial real estate credit investments and capital markets activities. Before joining H/2, Mr. Tam worked at Morgan Stanley for the Real Estate Investment group, focused on acquisitions. Mr Kelvin Teo joined HKEX as Senior Vice President, Head of Asia, Global Issuer Services in February 2025.
Prior to joining HKEX, Mr. Teo served as the Head of Equity Capital Markets for Asia Pacific at Barclays, leading the rebuild of the cash equities origination business across both public and private equity. Kelvin brings along more than 20 years of capital markets experience across investment banking and private banking. Prior to Barclays, he also held positions at Credit Suisse, JPMorgan, Macquarie, and Bank of Singapore, working across Hong Kong, Singapore, and Sydney (Australia).
Mr. Teo holds a Bachelor of Accountancy (Hons.) from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.
Jannie Tsuei is a Partner in the Singapore office with a decade of transaction experience in Southeast Asia. Prior to joining us, she led Southeast Asia healthcare investment banking at Morgan Stanley, where she drove healthcare coverage, origination, and execution efforts in the region. She also served as Chief Operating Officer of the Southeast Asia investment banking at Morgan Stanley from 2018 to 2020. Jannie has been integrally involved in c. US$70Bn of strategic and capital transactions across North America, Asia-Pacific, and Europe.
Previously, Jannie worked at Sears Holdings Corporation in a general management rotational program.

He helped build and scale the company from a disruptive start-up with ~80 employees and
Bhavik is passionate about supporting the startup ecosystem, and is an active angel investor and advisor to startups globally. He has also previously been interviewed on numerous podcasts and Singapore radio stations, such as MoneyFM, and has spoken at a range of events within the tech and finance space, including the Future of Finance Summit.
Mr. David Wong, is partner and co-head of private equity at alternative investment firm PAG. Mr. Wong is responsible for managing PAG’s private equity business in China.
Mr. Wong has 25 years of professional experience, including 14 years at PAG. Prior to PAG, Mr. Wong worked previously at TPG Capital (formerly Newbridge Capital) as in the investment banking division of Morgan Stanley.

Sueann Yeo is a Managing Director and Head of Asia-Pacific Private Wealth Client Relations and Capital Raising, based in Singapore. Prior to joining EQT, Sueann was an Executive Director and Head of Alternative Investments (Southeast Asia) at J.P. Morgan Private Bank. Sueann received a BBM with a major in Finance from Singapore Management University. She is also a Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) charter holder.
Xun Zeng is based in Cooley’s Beijing office, her practice focuses on the formation, structuring and operation of a wide variety of investment funds, including venture capital, private equity, hybrid, and co-investment funds. She advises fund sponsors on the marketing, formation, and operation of their funds, as well as upper-tier arrangements, carried interest plans, strategic joint venture arrangements and various governance matters. Xun also has extensive experience in representing institutional investors in connection with investments in private funds. Xun is recognized as a leading investment funds lawyer by Chambers Greater China and Legal 500 Asia Pacific. She is also a member of Cooley’s partnership nominating committee.
