Succession planning within Asian GPs have not yet come to the fore as most fund managers in the region don’t have the same longevity as their US/European peers. Kyle is the Founder and Managing Partner of ShawKwei & Partners, a private equity investment firm established in 1998. ShawKwei & Partners has offices in Hongkong, Singapore, and Shanghai managing investments in Asia, Europe, and the USA. Kyle’s private equity experience before ShawKwei & Partners included managing Asian private equity businesses for Security Pacific National Bank and then the Tudor Group. Kyle has served as a director of several Asian and European industrial and service companies including as founder and director of Flex Ltd. (formerly known as Flextronics International Ltd).
Kyle received an MBA from the Wharton School at University of Pennsylvania, a BS in Commerce from the McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia, as well as studied Mandarin Chinese at Taiwan’s National Normal University.
Nainesh Jaisingh is a Founding Partner and Chief Executive Officer at Affirma Capital. He is based in Singapore and also directly manages the Private Equity business in South East Asia.
Prior to leading the MBO of Standard Chartered Private Equity (SCPE) to form Affirma Capital, Nainesh was a founding member of the business within Standard Chartered Bank in 2002, and most recently the Global Head of the Principal Finance business of the Bank.
Nainesh’s early career was with ANZ Investment Bank and ANZ Grindlays.He is an Engineer from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), BHU, and holds an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Bangalore.
Mohanjit Jolly is a founding Partner at Iron Pillar, an India-focused tech growth fund. He has 25 years of operating and global investment experience. Before Iron Pillar, Mohanjit was Managing Director at DFJ where he established and managed DFJ's India office between 2007 and 2012 before returning to Silicon Valley. Prior to DFJ, Mohanjit was a Managing Director at Garage Technology Ventures, a seed and early-stage venture capital fund. Mohanjit also served as a Vice President at Garage.com where he raised in excess of US$150 million for 25 early stage technology companies. Prior to Garage, Mohanjit was part of the strategic planning group at Mattel where he helped launch the Mattel / Intel joint venture, Intel Play. He also spent several years in both engineering and business development roles with Itek Optical Systems, a manufacturer of reconnaissance systems. Mohanjit has led Iron Pillar’s investments in Pando, Vyome, Uniphore, CoreStack, Ushur, Fold Health, Sibros and Jiffy.
Mohanjit earned his MBA from the Anderson School at UCLA, and has a BS and MS in aeronautics and astronautics from MIT. Mohanjit serves on the Board of The Unreasonable Group and the SETI Institute. He is also an advisor to Mars and Accenture Open Innovation Group. Mohanjit lives in Silicon Valley with his wife, three kids and two dogs!
Adrian Kerley an Executive Director in the Private Equity team at IFM Investors, responsible for sourcing, structuring and negotiating new investments, managing existing investments as well as Private Equity fundraising. Mr. Kerley has extensive finance and private equity experience, joining IFM Investors from Commonwealth Superannuation Corporation, the pension fund for Australian government employees and members of the Australian Defence Force, where he was Head of Private Capital. In this role, Mr. Kerley was responsible for CSC’s Global Private Equity program, including developing and implementing investment strategies, portfolio planning and execution, relationship management, and operational enhancements. Mr. Kerley also previously worked in the investment team at CHAMP Ventures and for Woolworths in various operational and strategic roles.
