Wee Yang is a Managing Director at HSBC’s Capital Markets and Advisory business based in Singapore, where he leads the Financial Sponsors Group for Southeast Asia. With 19 years of experience across Asia and Europe, he has built a strong track record advising private equity firms, sovereign wealth funds, and infrastructure investors on M&A, IPOs, and financing transactions. Since returning to Asia in 2019, he has played a key role in scaling HSBC’s sponsor franchise in Southeast Asia, and is known for his ability to originate, structure and execute high-impact transactions across a broad range of sectors. Wee Yang holds a First Class Honours degree in Economics from the London School of Economics.
Aravind Krishnan is a Managing Director in the Private Equity Group based in Singapore and leads the Private Equity business in Southeast Asia. Before moving to Singapore, Mr. Krishnan was based in Mumbai. Since joining Blackstone in 2013, Mr. Krishnan has been involved in the execution of Blackstone’s investments in TaskUs, Aakash Education, Simplilearn, Xpressbees, Blue Yonder, and International Tractors.
Before joining Blackstone in 2013, Mr. Krishnan worked as a management consultant with McKinsey & Company.
Mr. Krishnan received a Bachelor and Masters in Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology Madras and an MBA with High Distinction from the Harvard Business School, where he graduated as a Baker Scholar. He currently serves on the boards of Simplilearn and Xpressbees.
Managing Partner, joined CVC in 2006. Based in Singapore, Brian is Co-Head of the Asia Executive Committee, Co-Head of Southeast Asia and he also leads our Asia Financial Services team. Prior to joining CVC, Brian spent nine years working in J.P. Morgan's M&A department in New York, Hong Kong and Korea offices, advising on a wide range of M&A and corporate finance transactions. Brian holds a BA degree in Business Economics and Political Science from Brown University, US.
Nicholas Macksey is a Partner at EQT, Deputy Co-Head of Private Capital Asia and Head of MidMarket Growth within the EQT Private Capital Asia team. He is a member of both the Investment Committee and the Exit & Liquidity Committee, playing a key role in investment selection, portfolio value creation and realisation strategy across the region.
With nearly two decades of private equity experience in Asia Pacific, Nicholas has deep expertise in partnering with founder- and management-led businesses to scale regional champions into global leaders. His sector focus spans education, technology, information services, professional services and tech-enabled business services.
Nicholas has served as Deal Partner on a number of leading investments, including Nord Anglia Education, Clarivate Analytics, Vistra, PageUp, Quantios, Compass Education and PropertyMe. Across these investments, he has supported international expansion, digital transformation, M&Adriven growth and strategic exits to global strategic and financial buyers.
Nicholas joined BPEA in 2006, which combined with EQT in 2022 to form BPEA EQT (now EQT Private Capital Asia). Prior to that, he worked at Westpac Institutional Bank and began his career at Deloitte. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce and a Bachelor of Economics from the University of Queensland and is a CFA charterholder.
Prashant Kumar (Singapore) joined KKR in 2018 and is a Partner. He is the head of the Southeast Asia Private Equity team. Mr. Kumar has led a number of the firm’s investments, including Ascend Asia, Mat Sai Gon Vietnam, Max Healthcare, JB Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals, Vini Cosmetics, and Advanta India. Prior to joining KKR, Mr. Kumar was a director and member of the investment committee at ChrysCapital, a leading India-focused private equity fund. Previously, he was with Warburg Pincus where led investments in various sectors. Prior to that, Mr. Kumar worked at Karsch Capital Management, a New York-based hedge fund, and SUN Capital, an emerging markets focused private equity firm. He began his career as a consultant with McKinsey & Company. Mr. Kumar holds a B.Tech. from the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi, a post-graduate diploma in management from the Indian Institute of Management Kolkata, and an M.B.A. from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
Doug Coulter joined LGT Capital Partners in 2007 to lead its Asia-Pacific private equity investment activities. Prior to LGT, Doug was a Senior Investment Officer at the IFC, the private sector investment arm of the World Bank, responsible for direct investments in the TMT, retail & consumer and healthcare sectors. He previously worked at Nomura Securities in Hong Kong and as a lawyer at Fasken in Toronto. He holds an MBA from INSEAD, a M.Sc. from the LSE, a law degree from the University of Western Ontario and a B.A. from Queen’s University in Canada.
