Joao is the Unquote editor and Mergermarket private equity editor in Europe. He joined Mergermarket as an industrials reporter in 2015 and was later promoted to editor.
Charles is a managing partner of Bowmark and co-chairman of the Investment Committee. He established Bowmark in 1997 and has jointly led the business with Kevin Grassby since 2000. Prior to Bowmark, he worked in investment banking with Morgan Stanley in London and New York, and in strategic management consultancy with the Boston Consulting Group.
Ian Sale is one of the London Team heads on HSBC’s Middle Market Financial Sponsors team. He has over 20 years’ experience in the leveraged finance arena. Ian and his team provide senior debt, working capital and super senior facilities for private equity investments in the UK and overseas. Ian has served on the Member Engagement Advisory Committee of the BVCA and is an external guest speaker on debt at the CASS Business School, London for their Private Equity MBA module.
Joe Topley joined the Equities division of Ontario Teachers’ in 2016 with responsibility for European private equity fund investments. He has since expanded his role to cover partnerships more broadly across the EMEA region as well as strategic fund relationships, globally. Joe has more than 20 years of experience in private equity, investment banking and management consulting. Prior to joining Ontario Teachers', Joe was responsible for European client management and investment research at StepStone in London, having previously worked at Credit Suisse, Nomura and Sega. Joe holds a BSc in Biochemistry from Imperial College, London, a Post-Graduate Diploma in Economics from University College, London and an MBA from INSEAD.
Sachin is a Director in the Private Capital Advisory team (fka Cebile Capital) at Raymond James. In his role, Sachin works closely with private market sponsors across Europe-UK and the US, advising them on GP-led secondaries and strategy for primary fundraising / scaling up their platform.
Prior to joining Cebile, Sachin was a Partner at Adams Street in their London office for over 8 years, where he led on the overall strategy for direct investments as Head of direct investments for Europe-UK and Asia. Sachin built out the direct investment platform for Adams Street in Europe-UK by working with sponsor relationships in sourcing, diligence and execution of co-investments in buyouts, direct growth equity investments and select GP-led secondary transactions. Sachin also served on the Portfolio Construction Committee for several years as part of the team crafting PE solutions for SMAs and was actively involved in fundraising for dedicated funds and global FoFs with prospective/existing clients.
Previously, Sachin was a Director at Northwestern Mutual Capital, the PE & mezzanine investment team of Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance co. in the US. Sachin worked with NMC for over 11 years, initially in the US where he was originating and executing investments to support mid-market sponsors. He was then part of a small team that set up NMC’s London office and developed strong relationships with European sponsors. During his time at NMC, Sachin led or co-led $1 billion of investments in the direct mezzanine, junior debt & equity, and over $2 billion of investments in IG private placements across various industries.
Sachin earned an MBA degree from the University of Wisconsin, and a BE degree from the University of Bombay, India. He also holds the charters for the use of CFA and CAIA designations.
Louise Wallace has been a partner in the Corporate Team since 1997 and is a member of CMS’ Executive Committee.
She covers all aspects of M&A, private equity, corporate finance, takeovers, joint ventures, corporate outsourcing, integrations and governance, and all forms of corporate restructurings.
Louise specialises in the hotels & leisure and the consumer and retail sectors. She is ranked in the top tier of Chambers 2016 for her work in the hotels & leisure sector and is recognised in Chambers for M&A (High End)
