Apposite

Apposite Capital is a healthcare focused private equity firm. Apposite focuses exclusively on
healthcare and is the only healthcare investment firm in the UK dedicated to the lower end of the
market.

Apposite’s mission is to provide better healthcare for more people, including the improvement of
patient outcomes, increasing healthcare capacity, improving affordability of healthcare, and
promoting healthcare innovation.

In February 2023, Apposite hired Christine Chang as Head of Impact. Christine works with Apposite’s
leadership, LPs, deal teams and portfolio companies to drive and further develop Apposite’s impact
agenda.

As a result of Apposite’s leading focus on healthcare impact, a number of investors have subscribed
to its latest fund who have invested with impact as a primary objective (a third of all investors,
representing 42% of total fund commitments). These include generalist impact investors, as well as
those with a specific focus on healthcare impact.

Bridges

Bridges has spent the last 20 years investing exclusively in businesses, real estate and other
organisations that support the transition to a more inclusive and sustainable economy.

It has always been our conviction that building a better future for people and the planet is a unique
opportunity to create lasting economic value. So impact is absolutely fundamental to every stage of
our investment process: from origination, to deal selection, to value creation, to exit.

Over the last year, we have updated our origination strategy to be explicitly and intentionally
impact-led. We became one of the first firms in the industry to roll-out granular investment-level
ESG/Impact goals for each portfolio company. We bolstered our specialist impact team, which works
alongside our investment professionals to identify opportunities for impact-driven value creation.

And we released our first ever ‘integrated’ report, incorporating the commercial and impact
performance of our investment companies into in a single, cohesive format (thus better illustrating
the link between the two).

Bridges’ B Corp score of 145.4 makes us one of the best-performing investment managers globally,
while our latest specialist real estate fund was one of the first in Europe to be classified as an SFDR
‘Article 9’ fund.

GHO

GHO Capital has a purpose-driven social investment objective to prioritise, select and invest in companies that have at their core a mission to deliver Better, Faster and More Accessible healthcare, driving efficiencies and offering solutions to address key challenges faced across the healthcare ecosystem. GHO believes these companies are uniquely placed to deliver superior returns while contributing to a healthier society, in pursuit of contributing to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal #3 of Good Health and Well-being. We refer to this as our Responsible Investing offence strategy.

GHO also believes that it is crucial for companies to realize their full sustainability potential, as we see this as the only viable path to lasting long-term growth and value creation that will stand the test of time. By accelerating their sustainability journeys, GHO helps its portfolio companies to understand and actively manage their environmental, social and governance impact along their value chain and embed sustainability practices at scale into their businesses. We refer to this as our Responsible Investing defence strategy.

Our focus areas directly contribute to healthcare objectives and value creation within our portfolio, underpinned by our Responsible Investing offence and defence strategies. GHO believes that those businesses that both i) offer solutions to address key challenges faced by healthcare systems and ii) fully realise their sustainability potential, and therefore have both a strong offence and defence, are ultimately better, more resilient and impactful businesses.
