Jacques Buhart is a partner at McDermott Will & Emery and focuses his practice on cross-border mergers and acquisitions and EU/French competition investigations and litigation out of Brussels and Paris. Jacques has also developed substantial knowledge of various industries, including nuclear, telecommunications, pharmaceutical, paper and energy. He is head of the Firm's Paris and Brussels offices.
Scott Moeller is Professor in the Practice of Finance at Bayes Business School, City, University of London where he also is the director and founder of the M&A Research Centre (https://www.bayes.city.ac.uk/faculties-and-research/centres/marc). Before teaching at Bayes, he was a visiting lecturer at the business schools of Imperial College (London) and Oxford University. His most recent book, published in September 2016 for The Economist business book series, is entitled Why Deals Fail & How to Rescue Them: M&A Lessons for Deal Success (co-authored with Michel Driessen and Anna Faelten). One of his books received an award in the United States as one of the top 30 business books of the year in 2008.
Scott had a long career in banking prior to his move to academia. During his six years at Deutsche Bank, Scott was Global Head of the bank’s private equity and corporate venture capital unit. Scott worked first at Booz Allen & Hamilton management consultants for over five years and then at Morgan Stanley for over twelve years in New York, Japan, and then as co-manager and member of the board of Morgan Stanley Bank AG in Germany. Scott has held a number of other board seats throughout Europe, Africa, Asia and the Americas and is currently a non-executive director on several boards. Scott is a graduate of Yale College, the Yale Graduate School and the Yale School of Management.
Liana Logiurato is a Non-Executive Director on the Board of Intesa Sanpaolo Bank, as well as a member of the Board’s Remuneration Committee and the Board’s Committee for Transactions with Related Parties.
As a leading board adviser she worked on over $100bn of M&A, JV and licensing transactions as well as raised capital for over $20bn through IPO. She worked as a strategic consultant at Ernst & Young Ltd (Zürich), where she was Equity Partner and Head of Chemicals EMEIA, Strategy e Transactions (2018-2021); she was Global Head of M&A (2010-2017) at Syngenta AG (Basel); she was Executive Director (1999-2009) at Nomura International plc (London); she was Associate Director (1998-1999) at UBS AG (London & Zürich).
In her professional career, she developed a strong track record in Corporate Defence, ESG and sustainability driven finance and in creating Long Term Stakeholder Value by identifying and originating strategic opportunities for industry transformation and growth in Asian, European and North/South American markets and in several sectors.
A graduate in Business Administration from Bocconi University in Milan, she earned an MBA and pursued further post-graduate studies at IMD (International Institute for Management Development) in Lausanne.
Resident in Switzerland, she lectures on M&A, governance and climate finance at IMD in Lausanne, IESE in Madrid and the University of Zürich.
Pablo is Global Head of M&A with Swissport International, the world's leading provider of airport ground handling and cargo handling services with more than 45,000 employees and operations at approx. 300 airports in 45 countries. Swissport International is pursuing a growth plan that includes an ambitious acquisition agenda in the Americas, Europe and Asia. Prior to joining Swissport earlier this year, Pablo was Global Head of M&A with global logistics company Kuehne+Nagel where he managed M&A transactions with a combined deal value of around $2.5 billion. Prior to Kuehne+Nagel, Pablo was an M&A advisor with PricewaterhouseCoopers in Switzerland and Australia. Pablo holds a Master of Arts in Business Administration and a Bachelor of Arts in Banking & Finance from the University of Zurich and has passed all CFA exams.
Based in Paris, Emilio Zito is EDF Group Head of M&A, Investments and EDF Invest. He is also in charge of Investor Relations.
Emilio joined EDF in 2008 and since he originated, led and executed a wide range of greenfield and brownfield transactions across the energy chain and related infrastructure. He has also been holding Boards positions within several subsidiaries of the Group, mainly in the Renewables business.
Emilio started his career as an investment banker in London, covering natural resources, energy and power sectors. He joined EDF in 2008 as an M&A and Investment Manager and relocated to London in 2011 to take on the M&A and Investment responsibility of EDF Energy, the largest subsidiary of the Group. Between 2018 and 2020 he also held the position of Deputy Head of M&A for EDF Group, before being appointed EDF Group Head of M&A and Investor Relations. On March 1st, 2023, Emilio had his responsibilities widened to include the Group’s principal investments activity and EDF Invest.
Originally from Milan, Emilio holds a double MSc in General Management from Milan Bocconi University and HEC Paris. He also graduated from the University of California San Diego with a major in Corporate Finance.
Emilio is an Italian native speaker, and speaks fluent English and French.
Tristan Nagler joined Aurelius in January 2014 to lead the London office and is responsible for sourcing and executing investments across the UK and Ireland. He began his career with KPMG, where he became a director in the London-based M&A team, and in 2010 joined Investec Growth & Acquisition Finance.
Marianna combines a deep knowledge of corporate intelligence and business investigations with an unconditional love for technology. She has a long history working with tech from her early career in technology transfer at the University of Cambridge. When she joined the industry, she first led efforts to open the Italian market to forensic techniques and then to cyber intelligence & data breach response, becoming an authority in these domains. Marianna rose to become Kroll’s Head of Southern Europe and a member of the company’s risk committee. As a manager she was responsible for both operations and network expansion. Marianna went to found the European intelligence and investigations firm, 36Brains which was merged into RSM.
Marianna has often served as a member of corporate supervisory bodies (Organismi di Vigilanza): anticorruption councils required for large companies in Italy.
Marianna’s expertise is also recognised at an academic level. She regularly holds courses at universities and institutes of higher learning in Italy, the UK and the US.
Niall is a senior deal lead in Shell’s global M&A team, currently responsible for renewables M&A in the Americas and oil refinery divestments in Europe.
A chemical engineer by education, his 25 year career in the energy sector has spanned oil refinery and chemical plant operations, fuel supply chain optimisation, biofuels, corporate strategy and consultancy, and M&A across the Americas, Europe and Asia. Prior to his current role he led the design of Shell’s new group-wide M&A organisation. He is passionate about leading change, developing people and building high-performing organisations and is fascinated by diverse cultures.
Head of Mergers and Acquisitions at Airbus Group, she heads all M&A transactions for the group. She joined EADS in 1997 as Vice-President Mergers and Acquisitions. Prior to EADS, she was Executive Director at Ernst & Young transaction advisory services in Paris. She started her career in Grant Thornton in Germany in 1991 in audit and then capital markets and transaction advisory roles. She attended University College Dublin and the Royal Society of Arts in London.

Elaine Green is Editor - EMEA Bureaus at Mergermarket and is responsible for managing the Bureaus in Europe and Middle East and African (EMEA) as well as being Global Head of Shipping. She has been with the company since its inception in 2000 and is an experienced reporter, editor and manager having worked both within the group and at wide range of other European publications. Her qualifications include a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA).
