Waldemar Szlezak joined KKR in 2019 and is a Partner on the Infrastructure (Private Equity) team. Mr. Szlezak leads KKR’s digital infrastructure investments globally. At KKR, Mr. Szlezak is actively involved in a number of investments, including Gulf Data Hub, CyrusOne, Global Technical Realty, MetroNet, On*Net Fibra de Chile, On*Net Fibra de Colombia, Nexo Latam, Hyperoptic and Pinnacle Towers. Prior to joining KKR, he was a Senior Managing Director in the Private Equity group of Soros Fund Management LLC (SFM) where he was responsible for originating, structuring and monitoring the firm’s communications infrastructure and real estate investments. While at SFM, Mr. Szlezak served on the board of directors of euNetworks Group Lmtd., Hyperoptic Ltd (acquired by KKR), Helios Towers Africa Ltd. (LSE: HTWS), TowerCo IV LLC (acquired by Peppertree Capital Management), TowerCo 2013 LLC (acquired by Grain Infrastructure II, L.P.), TowerCo II LLC (acquired by SBA Communications), TowerCo LLC (acquired by SBA Communications), ExteNet Systems Inc. (acquired by Digital Bridge Holdings and Stonepeak Infrastructure Partners), Atlantica Investment Holdings Ltd, GSRP LLC, Guinness Peat Group plc (LSE: GPG), Coats plc (LSE: COA), Diamond Resorts International (NYSE: DRII / acquired by Apollo Global Management Inc.), Quattro Parent LLC, and Salt Creek Hospitality, LLC, and as an advisory board member to Encore Housing Opportunity Fund, L.P and GP Invitation Fund I. Prior to SFM, Mr. Szlezak served as an associate at Soros Private Equity Investors / TowerBrook Capital Partners and prior to that, in the mergers & acquisition investment banking group at Credit Suisse First Boston where he was involved with a number of mergers, acquisitions, restructurings, and general corporate advisory transactions. Mr. Szlezak holds a B.S. in Operations Research from Columbia University in New York and a B.A. in Mathematics from Knox College in Galesburg.
